Submit a letter from guardrail manufacturer certifying that 6061-T6 aluminum tubes are extruded according to ASTM B-221 standard by a Canadian company holding ISO:9001 certification. CONFORMITY CERTIFICATEThe contractor must submit a certificate of conformity to certify that the installation on site meets all standards in force in addition to the constraints specified in the structural documents and specifications of the manufacturer. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to provide all fasteners, unions, bolts, plugs, etc. to ensure completeness of the work.PART 3EXECUTIONINSTALLATION Ensure that the installation area is free of debris.Install the freestanding guardrail system and the warning line system as shown on the plans sealed by the engineer and approved by the architect.Install the counterweights of a section and connect the vertical posts, as indicate on drawings. Tighten the screws with an ‘’Allen wrench”. Refer to the installation drawing and manual in order to respect all assembly specifications.The base and the counterweights must be placed on protective mats, unless placed directly on concrete slab.When the bases and counterweights are installed directly on the granulated elastomeric membrane, its an additional protective membrane section to be installed under the bases. This protective membrane must be welded to the membrane in place. Coordinate the installation of this membrane with the specialized contractor of section 07 52 00.Install at end of all tubes a plastic stopper of appropriate size.CERTIFICATIONIn the case of a design integrated into the project, the engineer who certified the installation plans or a competent person under his supervision shall travel to the site to ensure compliance of the installation and provide the contractor with a letter of compliance. The contractor shall complete the as-built drawings and submit two copies in accordance with these specifications.For pre engineered freestanding guardrail system, the contractor shall provide an installation drawing bearing the seal of a professional engineer registered or licensed in [Territory] [Province], Canada.END OF SECTION ................
