Frankenstein – Reading ScheduleEach student is responsible for completion of the assigned reading by each due date. Each due date, students will take a quiz for reading comprehension, and publishing companies (see Frankenfolio for explanation) will give chapter presentations according to the reading schedule. Chapter Presentations:? Each student will become a member of a “publishing company.” Each publishing company is responsible for four, 15-20 minute chapter presentations.? Presentations occur according to the assigned chapters and the reading schedule posted on this page.? Each company will lead discussion of themes, motifs, plot, character development, significant quotes (including literary devices), etc.? In the case that a member of any publishing company is absent, the rest of the group will present; therefore, it is extremely important that all members of a publishing company understand how a presentation will be delivered and have all supplies needed. Each presentation should last between 15 and 20 minutes (Groups will be timed; when time is up, the presentation ends.) Grades will be assigned based on student and teacher feedback.Frankenstein – Frankenfolio (Layered Curriculum Study)? Borrowed and adapted from Melissa Wotherspoon, ?Clarington Central Secondary School?, Bowmanville, Ontario (Canada)Each student will complete a FrankenFolio (a collection of work) that is due according to the completion dates on the reading schedule. This portfolio requires completion of FOUR C-Layer activities, THREE B-Layer activities, and ONE A-Layer activity. Each activity will be scored on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being best. Each student must submit at least one activity on a weekly basis; Work can be turned in up to three days late with penalties.If a week goes by with no work submitted, the student’s activity for the week will not be accepted according to the late grade policy, and ten points will be deducted from the folio score.If a student wishes to complete a performance activity, he/she must perform on the completion dates listed on the reading schedule.
