How to Submit a Contact For a Background Check Contacts can be submitted for a background check through the `Contacts' tab in Aspen iRecordTM. When a contact's information has been submitted, their individual compliance results will appear as "Submitted" until their background check is complete. After the background check has been completed, the individual compliance results will be updated with their compliance level result IC01 through IC04. Step 1: To submit a contact for a background check, first go to the `Contacts' tab and choose the contact by checking the checkbox next to their name. Next, click the `Submit for Background Check' link from the `Actions' box.

Step 2: Next, the page will update for you to accept the FCRA agreement and provide the necessary details with all required fields filled. The required information includes: SSN (Social Security Number): Only use the nine digits, with no dashes. Date of Birth: Click the calender icon for easier entry. Obtained Written Consent: If you indicate `Yes', the system will prompt

you with "You have indicated that you have obtained a written consent from this contact to allow you to run a background check on their behalf. Please confirm that this is the correct contact you have obtained consent from because your answer cannot be changed once submitted. You agree to keep a copy of the written consent for at least 5 years." Existing Proprietary Background Check: Click `Yes' if the contact already has an existing background check.

Step 3: Once complete, all successfully submitted contacts will be listed in the `Successful Submissions' section. For contacts not successfully submitted, the contact will be listed under the `Submissions requiring attention' section. You will not be charged for submissions needing attention as they have not been submitted for a background check. For all unsuccessful submissions, you're page will refresh to `Submissions requiring attention' and provide you the reason the submission was unsuccessful. In this example, you did not upload an SSA-89 form, you will see the message below. You need to confirm that the SSA-89 has been uploaded. To be successful, please see the `How to Add a Contact" one-pager guide. Please ensure, for the SSA-89 form, that you have: Wet signed the form (no digital signatures allowed) SSN/DOB fields are completed and accurate Uploaded page 1 of the SSA-89 form to the `Contact Details' page for

each contact

Note: You will see the message before the SSA-89 form is uploaded "Once you have uploaded this contact's hand signed and completed SSA-89 form, you will then be able to submit them for a background check. Please go to this contact's "Contact Details" page to upload the SSA-89 form and then submit this contact for a background check."

Reminder: During the SSA-89 upload, remember that "Only page 1 of the completed and wet signed SSA-89 form should be uploaded."

Step 4: If you need to renew a contact's background check in the future this can be done be by performing the same process as in the previous steps. If a contact is within 60 days of their background check expiring a flag symbol

will appear beside them to highlight that this contact's background check is near expiration. If the contacts background check has expired then the red attention symbol

will display beside them .
