Congratulations to the Lindblom Electric Eagles Robotics Team!

After winning the Central IL Regional Competition, the robotics team traveled to the World Championship in Detroit. At the competition the team went 5-5-0 and finished with a Rank of 38 out of 68 in the Darwin division, making this the best season we have had in the 14 years of our history. We should all be so proud of our students. Go Team 1781!

Lindblompalooza: Visual Art Showcase "Done. But..."

Please come to "Done, But"- Advanced Arts Lab end of year showcase!!! This will be on the 3rd floor in Tres Gallery from 4-6pm on Thursday, May 9th! There will be light refreshments, and many visual, sonic, interactive, and temporary pieces to experience. Our students have been hard at work on their Concentration projects for most of 2nd semester.

TWO MORE WEEKS TO BUY A YEARBOOK! The 100th Lindblom yearbook is now on sale for only $40. Yearbooks can be purchased in the main office or online in the student fees section. Yearbooks must be ordered in advance this year. There will be no extra copies available for purchase. The last day to buy a yearbook is May 15th.

2nd Annual Lindblom Culture Club Dance Friday 5/17 7-10PM

The Lindblom Latino Culture Club cordially invites you to our 2nd annual Latin theme dance, Vamos a la Playa! The dance will be on Friday, May 17th from 7 PM to 10 PM in Ballroom Room 317. Tickets can be purchased from Mr. Alaves in the Counseling Suite or Latino Culture Club members, and they are 1 ticket for $12 or 2 tickets for $20. Computer Science Teacher Lindblom Math & Science Academy is seeking talented

candidates who have an interest in Computer Science/Engineering Curricular development and an understanding of equity issues related to STEM education to join our Career Technology Education (CTE) department. Lindblom currently offers programs in Engineering, covering the design process, mechanical, electrical and civil engineering and Computer Science programs in Video Game Design & Development, Networking/Cybersecurity, and Web Design. We are looking for passionate candidates interested in augmenting and expanding our current programs.

Visual/Performance Arts Teacher Full-time position opening in the FAVPA (Fine, Visual Applied and Performing Arts) Department at Lindblom Math

and Science Academy for 2018-2019 school year. We are accepting applications from Visual, Dance, Theatre, and Arts Inclusion teachers.

Interest in teaching middle school classes, and experience in Special Ed inclusion and/or ESL preferred. Strong

candidates will have a 9-12 or 6-12 teaching license and a positive disposition towards working with both gifted students and students with special needs. Experience and interest in directing or designing theatrical productions are preferred.

Bilingual Clerk Assistant Lindblom is seeking a Clerk Assistant that will be part of a collaborative team that supports parents, students, and

staff to ensure the smooth functioning of the school. The Clerk Assistant will support the clerk with purchasing, payroll, and substitute teacher placements. The Clerk Assistant will be responsible for textbook management which is including inventory, issuing books to students and organization of the book room. The Clerk Assistant will support the Case Manager with file management, records and mail notifications for parents. The Clerk Assistant will also translate as needed for parent meetings. The Clerk Assistant will be responsible for calling parents of students with consistent attendance issues plus other duties as needed.

Bilingual Dean 7 - 9 Lindblom is seeking a Bilingual Dean that will be part of the student support team for students in grades 7 - 9. The

Dean will be responsible for ensuring restorative practices are implemented in alignment with the CPS Code of Conduct and CPS policies to ensure students always learn from any behavior they undertake. The Dean will also be responsible for holding parent meetings with students who have consistent attendance issues. Dean will coordinate closely with the Assistant Principal for grades 7 - 9 and attend all weekly grade level meetings.

Librarian and Peer Tutoring Center Director

Lindblom is seeking a dynamic, creative, and organized library media specialist that will manage both the library and

our peer tutoring center within our very popular library. The library media specialist must be able to build

relationships and work well with students from 7th-12th grade as well as with teachers from a variety of content areas

for research lessons and book talks. In addition, the library media specialist will maintain and update the physical

library as well as the e-resources available. Ideally, the library media specialist will also run our Peer Tutoring Center

which runs on lunch periods where the candidate will teach students how to tutor others. Also, the library media

specialists helps to organize and check out technology to students and teachers. Requirements: Masters in Library

Science, Endorsement in Library Science, and/or CPS short-term librarian authorization are all accepted. Previous

teaching experience in CPS is a plus as is knowledge of SOAR (CPS's online catalog). Our current librarian also

sponsors the literary magazine, so this extracurricular is a plus as well.

Lindblom Summer Band and Music Theory Intensive

Dates: *June 24-July 5, and July 15-22, 2019 Hours: 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM MTWRF Credit: 1 Fine Arts HS Elective Credit Cost $250

The LMSA Summer Band and Music Theory Intensive offers students a comprehensive course experience in concert band instrumental studies and music theory. This course is open to new and experienced students alike. We will work to build students' confidence in performance technique and musicianship, as well as applied theoretical knowledge and music literacy. Students will gain experience beyond the typical band setting with individual and small group lessons, chamber music opportunities, master classes, guest performances, etc. This 3-week course will enable students to continue practicing throughout the summer and will better prepare them for the next level course in the coming school year. In order for students to earn a full semester's worth of credit in this 3-week long intensive, documentation of practicing (35 hours outside of class time) for this course is required. *Please note that we will meet during the last week of June and the first and third weeks of July. This class will not meet during the second week of July, so this will be a great time for students to complete the bulk of their practicing requirements. Since July 4th is a holiday, the final day of classes will occur on Monday, July 22 to account for the day off.
