1. Foreword

About This Manual

This manual is designed for users of UCA Eternity software in conjunction with Eternity product line, such as Eternity I, Eternity II, Eternity III and Eternity door controller. All installation, setup, operational information, procedures, screen captures, and other relevant materials are contained in this manual.

Safety Warnings and Cautions

When handling a print circuit board (PCB), to guard against possible static discharges, touch a grounded object BEFORE touching the board. Static shock could cost unexpected damage of the board.

Manufacture Default Code Setting:

1. Default Setting for Login User Name/ Password is: dallas/ibutton

2. Operator Password: The default operator password is 00000000 (8 Zeros)

3. System Password: The default System password is 000000 (6 Zeros)

LED and Audio Indicator

1. Program Mode: LED indicating GREEN, audio end with two beeps (Successful)

2. Program Mode: LED indicating Red, audio end with one beep (Fail)

3. Key Access Mode: LED indicating GREEN, audio end with two beeps (Valid Access)

4. Key Access Mode: LED indicating Red, audio end with one beep (Fail)

5. Unlock Mode: LED flashing GREEN, lock is in unlock mode

6. Lock Mode: LED flashing RED, lock is in lock mode

Important Keys

1. DS1982/DS1990- User Key (Default keyfob color from UCA: red, yellow, black, orange)

2. DS1994- It contains an on board real time clock to reset the lock internal clock. (Default keyfob color from UCA: Dark Green)

3. DS1977- Program Key. (Default keyfob color from UCA: Purple)

4. Manual Setup

There is a simple method to program the locks without using the PC software. The following steps will show you how to set up key system:

1. Master Key: To set master key, press (for Eternity III need hold) the reset button, touch the master key (any selected DS-1990) to the reader, you will hear a beep and green light will turn on for couple seconds. This indicates the master key is ready.

2. Add Key: Use the master key to touch the ibutton reader, the lock will emit a beep and green light will turn on for 5 seconds. The lock is now in “Add Key” mode. While the green light is still on, touch the user keys one by one, the lock will beep and green light will remain on to indicate a successful addition, user keys now add to the lock.

3. Delete Key: Use the master key to touch the ibutton reader once, green light flash. Touch the master key again to the reader, Red light flash. Lock is in “Delete Key” Mode. Touch the keys you want to delete one by one. When finish, wait till the red light is off.

4. Delete All: Use the master key to touch the ibutton reader once, green light flash. Touch the master key again to the reader, the red light flash. Touch the master key 5 more times to the reader, audio with one long beep, all the keys are deleted from the lock.

Caution: If you decided to program the locks by using the Eternity software, you will automatically surrender the “Manually Setup” functions when “New Lock Setup Mission” performed. Consulting your local dealer or manufacture for the details.

5. Software Installation

Operating System

Eternity software is comparable with Microsoft Windows 98/2000/XP. All software must be installed using Windows administrator account, but all level Windows users can use the program. Failure to install the applications may result in error messages and an incomplete installation.

Installing the 1-Wire USB Driers

1. Insert installation CD. Note: On most computers, the Autorun program launches automatically. If it does not, select Start|Run, browse to CD-ROM drive, select index file.

2. Select 1-Wire USB Driver Installation, the Setup Wizard will guide you through the steps.

3. Select Next. The License Agreement screen displays.

4. Select I Agree, then Next. 1-Wire Drivers USB Warning screen displays.

5. Select Next. The Select Installation Folder Screen displays. Check Everyone or Just me.

6. Select Next. The Confirm Installation screen displays, then select Next to start installation.

7. Select Finish. The 1-Wire USB Driver Installation is complete.

Installing the Eternity Software

Select Eternity Software 1.0 Installation. The Auto installer will guide you through the steps and create the shortcut- Eternity Lock Management on you desktop.

6. Running the software

Login

The default login is: User Name: dallas Password: ibutton. User Name and Password can be modified but can’t be deleted.

Change User Password

A default password for a newly created operator profile is 00000000 (8 Zeros). The user can change the password in this screen. There is no restriction for the password setting.

Change System Password

The default system password is 000000(6 Zeros). It is mandatory to change and remember the facility system password when the user is ready to use this software. It is highly recommended that the system password need to be changed from the default setting for security purpose. This is an identity of the user’s facility. Re-initialize all the locks would be required if system password has been changed.

Section 2 Access control Management I

1. Adding Locks

New Lock Setup

Click “Mission Management” and choose “New Lock Setup Mission”, the following screen will pop up.

This mission does two things:

• Initialize the lock back to the manufacture default setting.

• Sets the system password, and real time to the lock

Steps to set up a new lock mission

1. Place the program key (DS1977) to the encoder, click Issue Card button. Wait till the mission is completed.

2. Press the reset button( for Eternity III, press and hold the button) located at the bottom of the battery case. While the green light is still flashing, apply the program key to the reader. You will hear two beeps.

3. Snap the program Key back to the encoder; click “Read Key” Button to upload the lock ID into the system.

4. Give the lock a name and location and click “Save”.

Lock Setting

Lock Setting is an alternative way to add locks to the system, we recommend users keep the lock ID in file after the new lock setup, you can manually input lock profile into the system when you needed.

By using the “Add: “Delete”, “Modify” button, user can simply manage the locks.

In this screen the upper window shows the lock list and the bottom window shows the valid key list for the selected lock.

• Serial ID: The Serial ID can be located from the manufacture package. Serial ID can be also found by using the new lock set up mission.

• Lock status: By manufacture default, the lock status is “No Limit Storeroom Mode.” To change the lock status, Click “Modify”, and then click on underlined “Lock Status”, Time Operation Setting screen will pop up. Highlight the group number, click “Select” button.

2. Adding keys

Key Setting

The right side window shows the list of the keys in the system. To add a new key, Snap the user key to the encoder, click “Add” Button and click underlined wards “Key Serial ID,” or the field, the Key ID will be detected by the system and automatically entered. If the user key already exists in the system, the software will pop up a warning. No duplicate keys are allowed in one system. Enter the User profile as follow:

• First name: Input the first name of the key owner.

• Last name: Input the last name of the key owner.

• Time shift setting: Choose a group of time shift setting. (Default setting is No Limit. To select a Time Shift Group, simply click on the field, the Time Shift setting window pops up. Select the group number, and then click Select)

• Activation / expiration date setting: Choose a group of activation / expiration date setting. (Default setting is No Limit. To select an Activation/expiration Group, simply click on the field, the Activation/expiration setting window pops up. Select the group number, then click Select)

• Exception date setting: Choose a type of exception date setting. (Same procedure as Time Shift selection)

• Department: User can either select the pre-input Department name from the pull down list, or input a new name in the field. The new name will be saved to the Department list once the data saved.

• Title, address, contact information can be entered as the key owner profile; a photo of the owner can be uploaded to the program. (These are optional fields information)

• Status: There are two options, active and inactive. We suggest not deleting any existing key for security reason. User can change the key status from Active to Inactive for a lost key or left employee.

• Photo: Use .bmp format to add user photo ID.

When it is done, click “Save” button and user key will be stored.

3. Assign Keys

Click “Mission Management” and choose “Key Management Mission” from drop down menu, the following screen will pop up:

The Key Management Mission is to assign the keys to each lock. Left column shows the lock list. Top of right column shows the un-assigned key list. Bottom Right column shows the keys that have been assigned or are going to be assigned to the selected lock.

Here’s how to assign keys to the lock:

1. Select the lock from lock list.

2. Select the key or holding down the “Ctrl” key and click to select multiple keys from un-assigned key list. Click “Add” to add to assigned key list.

3. By using “Add”, “Add All”, “Remove”, “Remove All” to manipulate the key assignments according to the user’s desire.

4. Snap the program key to the encoder, click “Issue Card” button, and wait till the write mission is completed. Take the program key and hold it to the lock reader, you will hear a series of chirps followed by two beeps. All the keys you just assigned to the lock will operate the lock now.

Section 3 Access control Management II

1. Time Setting

Time Shift Setting

This function is used to set the restriction time zones for user keys, which preventing unauthorized unwanted personnel enter the facility or area at off-hours. The beginning time and ending time of each setting date can be added base on users’ permition. There are 16 Time Shift Groups in total and up to 7 settings in each group. The first group is No Limit. This is a default setting for each new key and it cannot be modified.

To add or modify each time zone in a time group: Simply select the group number from the left side window, and click on Add or Modify or Delete button to edit the settings in the right side window.

Here is the example for Time Shift Group 2

This company wants to set the Group 2 Shift to access from Monday to Friday 8:00am to 7:00pm, and no access on Saturday and Sunday.

Once the setting is done, click the [pic] button to save the changes.

Timed Operation Setting

This function is used to set the lock automatically unlocked, locked, storehouse mode, or classroom mode at the setting time. There are 16 Timed Operation Groups in total, and up to 16 settings in each group. The first setting by default is No Limit Classroom Mode (The lock will stay at Passage mode all the time.) The second setting by default is No Limit Storehouse Mode (the lock will stay locked mode all the time).

[pic] button is used to delete an existing setting in a group.

[pic] button is used to change an existing setting in a group.

There are four lock statuses the user can choose:

• Storehouse Mode: In this mode, the Lock will lock back in few seconds (0.1-25.5 seconds).

• Classroom Mode: In this mode, the lock will be in the unlock mode until next valid key touch the reader.

• Lock Mode: In this mode, the lock will automatically lock at the setting time.

• Unlock Mode: In this mode, the lock will automatically unlock at the setting time.

Activation / Expiration Date Setting

This function is used to set the activation date and expiration date of valid keys.

The first group is a default setting as No Limit setting. The rest of groups can be set an activation date and expiration date.

Exception Date Setting

This function is used to set restrict access during periods such as holidays, facility shutdowns, vacations.

2. Mission Management

Audit Trail

Click “Mission Management” on the opening screen and choose “Maintenance Mission” from the drop down menu.

1. Check “All Records” (up to 4000) or “Record number (less than 2000).”

2. Place the program key to the encoder and click “Issue Card” button.

3. A “Write Get Audit Trail Card OK” message will pop up. Click OK to close the screen.

4. Unsnap the program key and touch the lock’s reader, you will hear a long series of chirps followed by two beeps.

5. Snap the program key back to the encoder and click “Read Card” button. The UCA read card screen will pop up. Click “read Card” again, the audit trail records will roll up on the screen.

6. Click ‘Save Data” button, the audit trail records will be saved in Database.

Set Time Table

This Mission will assign the specified timed operation to the selected lock. Here is how to operate the mission:

1. Click “Mission Management” on the opening screen and choose “Maintenance Mission,” and select “Set time Table Key” button.

2. Double click the “Lock Serial ID:” field, the locks list screen will pop up, find the lock and click”select” button.

3. Snap the program key to the encoder and click “Issue Key”, wait till message “Write set Time Table Key Mission ok” pop up.

4. Remove the program key and hold it to the lock reader, you’ll hear a series chirps followed by two beeps. It indicates that the mission is completed.

Lockout

Set Lockout key to a specified lock, the lock will in Lockout mode and will forbid all the assigned keys to operate the lock. Apply the Lockout Card again to release the Lockout Mode.

Set Time

This step uses the DS1994 to set the real time of the lock

Get Information

Get Information mission is a useful tool to retrieve the existing lock information, such as: Key list, Real time, Time Setting and lock ID, and etc.

3. History

Lock Audit History

Click “History” and choose “Lock Audit History” from drop down menu, the following screen will pop up:

Here’s how to view the saved data:

1. On “Query By” give the time window of the audit records, and check the key words.

2. On “Order By” check the key words of the records order.

3. Click “Query” button, the records will show on the screen.

4. Click “Export” to save a copy of the audit trail records to Excel file.

Operator Log

When select “Operator Log”, the following screen will show:
