GB40 Single System (see next page for multi station system)

Perform software upgrade on a single NavComputer (NC)

• Remove the C-Map USB hardware key or USB hub from the NavComputer and insert the USB drive directly into the USB port on the NavComputer. Do not connect the USB drive via a USB Hub. Note that if fitted, the plastic retaining ring on the USB port may need to be removed to allow some types of USB drive to fully engage.

• Start the NavComputer

• Accept Conditions of Use

• Select PAGES > Setup > Installation > Upgrade software > Confirm.

• The Upgrade files will copy across in about 15 minutes and the system will reboot.

• You will now see a black screen with the text "LOADING RAMDISC IMAGE". At this stage remove the USB flash drive.

If you miss the timeslot you will see an error message saying "Can not find script D:\NSDATA etc.” Remove the USB flash drive and press tick to continue. You may have to turn off the unit and then re-start.

The upgrade process will continue for about 30 minutes. The GB40 will do a number of restarts during this period. DO NOT INTERRUPT THE UPGRADE!

When the upgrade is complete you may be asked to assign the OP30.

After upgrade

• After upgrading, turn off the unit by the ON/OFF button on the NavComputer. And power cycle the entire system.

• Remove the USB drive and re-insert the C-Map hardware key or USB hub.

• Reset the OP30(s) by pressing MENU and PWR for 5-6 seconds. You will hear 4-5 beeps. The OP30 is now reset and the GB40 will start up and automatically assign the OP30, which will respond with 4-5 beeps.

• Re-Install charts via PAGES, Setup, Chart, Chart Manager
