English III OVERVIEW OF THE COURSE, SYLLABUS, AND MAKE UP POLICY OVERVIEW1. YOU GET 2 TRIES ON MOST QUIZZES--AN AVERAGE IS TAKEN OF THE 2!2. This is a writing intensive course. The writing assignments are found in the modules and or videos provided or found on the link with the blue ball AFTER my syllabus and are in blue. Each week directly under the date in black, you will see what assignments you will need to write on or to be tested or quizzed on. There are pre and post test to SOME sections, and they are numbered, but the sections may be divided between the weeks in order to get all completed in the short 8 weeks of summer.3. I grade everyday throughout the week and on Sunday when the assignments are due.You must first type your response to the assignment on a word document and then upload on the link that has your particular writing assignment for that week. You cannot go back and try to make up an assignment once the due date has passed for that assignment!! See link below for help uploading documents. GRADING, PLAGIARISM AND MAKE UP POLICIES 1. All assignments are due on or before the due date and will be graded weekly (--don't follow topics on left under Navigation-you will miss deadline dates that way) , so don't leave any assignments out!! If ALL THE required quizzes are completed, and you want to go on--please do so. You are encouraged to work ahead--just make sure all quizzes and assignments with a due date are completed first. You will notice, I keep saying that!!2. YOU MUST take the quizzes and written assignments BY due dates first--those under the yellow!! IF YOU KNOW YOU WILL BE TIED UP OR OUT OF TOWN DURING A CERTAIN WEEK, GET THAT WORK DONE AHEAD OF TIME BECAUSE ONCE ASSIGNMENTS ARE MISSED, WORK CANNOT BE MADE UP unless the instructor is given prior notice or can prove a family emergency. FEEL FREE TO WORK AHEAD AFTER DUE DATE WORK IS COMPLETED!!!!!!! 3. If you see an assignment that is hidden or in light grey, that you saw PREVIOUSLY --the NOW hidden assignment means you have missed the deadline and now have a zero(s) for that assignment(s)--This CANNOT BE MADE UP WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL BY ME. Other situations will be taken on a case by case basis, as to whether I will accept late work and if so, it will be GRADED at a much lower grade.4. PLAGIARISM WILL not be tolerated!! (Click Academic Integrity Link below) You are expected to do your own work-nothing that is copied and pasted from any previous document is allowed--that is plagiarism and will fail you. Your work will be checked online!!5. Read ALL the directions next to the BLUE Bullets below to become familiar with this type of online class--Questions?? call or email asap! Assignments are due by end of week on Sundays. Assignments are under the week they are due. Sample Due Dates for a Semester:Note: listed below are only the submitted assignments.
