“In a writing workshop, you will be responsible for a homework folder and homework assignment sheets. It will be your responsibility to bring this folder to class everyday. I will provide you with one red folder, and this folder is for this class only. If this folder is lost or damaged you will have to buy another one from me. On the outside of this folder, I want your name and class period written big in the middle of the folder. In addition, I want my name written underneath that so if it is found, it can be returned to me. Inside the folder on the right side, I expect you to keep your homework in this pocket. On the left side of the folder, you should always have about twenty sheets of clean paper. In the middle of the folder, inside the brackets, I want you to keep your monthly calendars and homework assignment sheets. I will provide the monthly calendars and homework assignment sheets. The monthly calendars and homework assignment sheets will be kept in the back on the room in a black binder on the book self. It is very important that you bring this folder to school daily. You never know when I could be giving extra credit for it. These folders are to help make your life easier.”
