Bookkeeper Position DescriptionPosition TitleBookkeeperImmediate SupervisorExecutive PastorPosition PurposeThis position supports the financial operations of Evergreen-LA by managing the revenue and expenditure activities, maintaining payroll and benefits processes, preparing appropriate internal and external reporting, and assisting with other financial-related matters.QualificationsSpiritual characterDemonstration of a lifestyle and character of a disciple of Jesus ChristEducationMinimum of an Associate degree (with accounting and bookkeeping training)ExperienceMinimum of three (3) years of accounting/bookkeeping work experience.Valued experiences may include clerical, organization and planning, financial, computer competencies.Ability to work with others in team settings.Hours of employment~ 25 hours per week (part-time, no benefits). Possible full-time pensationAvailable upon requestPosition ResponsibilitiesManage revenue and expenditure activitiesInput weekly offering collection into bank and church management systems.Process vendor payments and ministry reimbursements.Maintain general ledger system.Prepare annual charitable contribution statements.Maintain payroll and benefits processesProcess bi-monthly payroll information.Maintain staff time-away log (vacation, sick leave, jury duty, etc.).Work with Executive Pastor on medical and retirement benefit plete the financial processes for the hiring and termination of church staff. Prepare internal and external financial reportingPrepare weekly giving report for Finance Committee.Prepare monthly summary for Finance Committee and Church Board.Prepare quarterly report for church membership.Work with external auditor for annual audit or review.Provide required financial information to the State of California and financial institutions.Assist with other financial-related matters.Work with Executive Pastor and Finance Committee on annual Resource Plan/budget.Work with Finance Committee on financial institution account reconciliation.Assist with donor inquiries.Member of the EBCLA administrative staffAttend monthly all-staff and administrative staff meetings.Provide cross-training support to office staff as needed.Other church office responsibilities may be delegated.For more information or to receive an employment application, please contact Pastor Jonathan Wu, jcwu@ or 626-260-5582. ................
