Purpose

The Association of Petroleum Surveying & Geomatics (APSG) is an unincorporated association of individuals who desire to exchange geodetic and cartographic information relating to worldwide petroleum development. The purposes of APSG are to advance survey technology relative to the worldwide petroleum industry and to disseminate information to APSG members in respect of worldwide petroleum geodesy, surveying, cartography, and spatial data management.

By submitting your application for membership, you agree that you are familiar with APSG Articles of Association published on this website, and in particular, agree to comply with the Purpose and Ethics sections. All applications are subject to review by the Membership Committee and approval by the APSG Executive Committee.

APSG will charge a full regular fee and extend your renewal by one additional year if you sign up for membership 3 months before the January 1st renewal date.

Membership Requirements

Annual Membership - Annual Membership in APSG shall be available to individuals regularly engaged in geomatics, surveying, positioning, geospatial data management, and mapping sciences in petroleum exploration, development, and production oriented work or whose primary function is to assist, support, or enhance such work.

Lifetime Membership - One-time payment. Lifetime Full Membership in APSG shall be available to individuals regularly engaged in geomatics, surveying, positioning, geospatial data management, and mapping sciences in petroleum exploration, development, and production oriented work or whose primary function is to assist, support, or enhance such work.

Student Membership - Student Membership in APSG shall be available to students who are interested in geomatics, surveying, positioning, geospatial data management, and mapping sciences in petroleum exploration, development, and production oriented work or whose primary function is to assist, support, or enhance such work.

Students must provide Student ID Card for each year of student membership. Student Members will have not voting rights.

Chapter Associations

US Central Chapter

The US Central Chapter consists of members in the following US States (TX, LA, AR, OK, KS, MO, NE, IA, SD, ND, MN, WI, IL, IN, MI, OH). If you are interested in joining this group, please update your chapter association to include the US Central Chapter.

US East Chapter

The US East Chapter will consist of members in the following US States (ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, CT, NY, PA, NJ, DE, MD, DC, VA, WV, NC, SC, GA, FL, KY, TN, MS, AL). If you are interested in joining this group, please update your chapter association to include the US East Chapter.

US West Chapter

The US West Chapter consists of members in the following US States (AK, AZ, CA, CO, HI, ID, MT, NV, NM, OR, UT, WA, WY). If you are interested in joining this group, please update your chapter association to include the US West Chapter.

Canada Chapter

The Canada Chapter will consist of members in the Canadian Region with a main focus in Calgary. If you are interested in joining this group, please update your chapter association to include the Canada Chapter.

EAME Chapter

The EAME Chapter will consist of members in the Europe, Africa and Middle East Region. If you are interested in joining this group, please update your chapter association to include the EAME Chapter.

Code of Ethics

Relation of Members to One Another - It is the policy of APSG that all members shall comply with the antitrust and competition laws of all countries in interacting with each other. It is recognized that, on occasion, there may be legitimate doubt as to the proper interpretation of the law. In such circumstances, law advice will be obtained by APSG.

Relation of Members to Employees and Clients - Members shall not use or divulge any employer's or clients confidential information without their permission and shall avoid conflicts of interest that may arise from information gained during any activities under taken by APSG.

Duty to the Association - Members shall not use APSG membership to imply endorsements or recommendation or approval by APSG of specific projects or proposals.
