?Priority question for written answer P-000017/2021to the CommissionRule 138Kate?ina Kone?ná (The Left)Subject:COVID-19 vaccine orders by Member StatesThe Commission has so far concluded contracts for the purchase of COVID-19 vaccines with AstraZeneca, Sanofi-GSK, Johnson and Johnson, BioNTech-Pfizer, CureVac and Moderna. BioNTech-Pfizer vaccines were already distributed to Member States last year. The Member States should receive as many vaccines as they ordered from the Commission. However, a large number of press releases have already been published in various Member States today on the number of vaccines they have provided for their citizens. For example, France has announced that it has ordered 200 million doses for its citizens, and Germany has ordered 100 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine. Some Member States have even changed the information that they provide to the public on the number of vaccines ordered from the EU on several occasions, often as many as several times in a month. The total declared number of vaccines ordered by the Commission for the whole EU thus ceases to correspond to the number of vaccines that the Member States are reporting to their citizens in terms as having been ordered from the Commission.1.Could the Commission publish the total number of vaccine doses it has so far secured by contract for the Member States?2.Could the Commission publish the number of doses of vaccines that each Member State has ordered (broken down by Member State)?3.Is it possible for any Member State to increase its original vaccine order from the Commission? ................
