SUMMARY OF STARR COUNTY ORDERSMANDATORY COUNTYWIDE STAY AT HOME/STAY SAFESTARR COUNTY RESIDENTS SHALL SHELTER AT THEIR PLACE OF RESIDENCE WHAT IS SHELTER IN PLACE?You should remain on your property as much as possible, only leaving when absolutely necessary AND prohibits public and private gatherings of more than 10 people.WHAT DOES THIS NOT MEAN?This does not mean you must stay indoors. Enjoy the outdoors! You can be outside in your yard, go jogging in the neighborhood, or take a walk WHILE WEARING A FACE COVERING and PRACTICING SOCIAL DISTANCING, but public parks and other social gathering places are off limits.WHAT IS SOCIAL DISTANCING?Social distancing is keeping at least 6 feet away from another person while out in public, at work or while taking public transportation.WHAT CAN YOU DO?? Going to your Doctor’s Visits, Picking up medications or other healthcare related visits? Taking your pet to the vet? Purchasing items to work from home ? Shopping for groceries and/or supplies? Working from home? Taking care of a family member or pet in another house? Walking, hiking, biking and running for exercise (NO PUBLIC GYMS) (ALL while keeping social distancing of 6 feet or more)YOU MAY NOT ATTEND OR HOST ANY PUBLIC OR PRIVATE GATHERINGS SUCH AS PARTIES UNLESS IT IS IN YOUR HOME AND FOR MEMBERS OF YOUR HOUSEHOLD ONLY.YOU MAY NOT VISIT FRIENDS OR RELATIVES, ATTEND BBQS OR ANY OTHER SOCIAL EVENTS OUTSIDE YOUR HOME.DO I HAVE TO WEAR FACE AND NOSE COVERINGS? YES.Masks covering of the nose and mouth are MANDATORY for anyone?over the age of 5 when leaving their home to perform essential task and can include surgical masks, bandanas, scarfs, etc.CAN I VISIT RESTAURANTS OR FOOD ESTABLISHMENTS? YES.MAY only buy and pickup food by drive-thru, delivery, or carry out; and MUST do so before 10pm.?????MUST ensure that you cover your nose and mouth with a mask or any form of cloth at all times ????????CAN I TRAVEL DURING THIS ORDER?All travel is PROHIBITED except for Essential Travel such as: Going to places listed as essential (seek medical care or buy food and goods) and returning home. Travel to care for elderly, minors, dependents, persons with disabilities or other vulnerable persons To visit educational institutions for pickup of instructional packets or food Returning to place of residence if not Starr County residentWHO NEEDS TO SELF QUARANTINE?Any person, including international travelers, unless traveling for work, or commercial activity, military, emergency or health response or critical-infrastructure functions, who enters the County of Starr from OUTSIDE the Rio Grande Valley (defined as Willacy County, Cameron County, Hidalgo County and Zapata County) or Mexico (If the person comes from outside the 20 MILE RADIUS) MUST self-quarantine for a period of 14 days from the time of entry into Starr County, Texas or the duration of the person’s presence in Starr County, Texas, whichever is shorter.YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SELF QUARANTINE IF:If you are U.S. Citizens or lawful permanent residents that travel to any US/ MEXICO Border Community that does not exceed a 20 MILE RADIUS along Starr County (i.e. Camargo or Miguel Aleman, Tamaulipas, etc.) for a period of less than 24 hours for medical purposes, to purchase food or goods or to attend educational institutions.NEW GUIDELINES FOR RETAIL STORES FOR LIMITED ENTRY, MASK AND SOCIAL DISTANCING(1) Designate shopping times for at risk individuals, when possible; (2) MUST limit the amount of people in a store at once and organize a system to allow social distancing of at least 6 feet apart. (3) Implement purchase limits on high-demand items (toilet paper, soap, hand sanitizer); (4) Offer pick up or deliveries of grocery items to the greatest extent possible(5) MUST ensure that all employees and customers cover their nose and mouth with a mask or any form of Cloth at all times RETAIL, GROCERY, AND CONVENIENCE STORES (EX. ALL DOLLAR STORES, STRIPES, ETC.)All retail, grocery or convenience stores that do not include fresh produce or a meat market with less than 15,000 square feet in commercial space MUST be limited to no more than 10 customers at a time and MUST have system to allow customers to be at least 6 feet apart.NEW RESTAURANT AND SCHOOL/COMMUNITY MEAL PICK GUIDELINES (1) MUST ensure that all employees and persons designated to pick up meals cover their nose and mouth with a mask or any form of cloth and wear gloves at all times (2) MAY only prepare and serve food for drive-thru, delivery, or carry out; and MUST close by 10pm (3) Schools and other entities MUST provide free food services to students or the public on a pick-up or take-away basis and MUST NOT allow food to be eaten at site. (4) MUST NOT permit the same employees or Volunteers who prepare or serve food to handle money.
