Criteria We Consider When Adding Mental Health Professionals to a Henry County Schools Resource List

Masters Level Therapists Masters Level Therapists should be licensed by the Georgia Secretary of State's Office as one of the following:

LCSW-Licensed Clinical Social Worker LMFT-Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist LPC-Licensed Professional Counselor Individuals who have completed their master's degree and are working toward gaining licensure with the Georgia Secretary of State should be practicing under the direct supervision of one of the licensed individuals listed above. Graduate students completing their practicum should be practicing under the direct supervision of one of the licensed individuals listed above. Therapists should have a clear disciplinary record with the Georgia Secretary of State's Office.

Doctoral Level Psychologists Similar to Masters Level Therapists, Doctoral Level Psychologists should also be licensed by the Georgia Secretary of State's Office. Individuals who have completed their doctorate degree in Psychology and are working toward gaining licensure with the Georgia Secretary of State should be practicing under the direct supervision of a Licensed Psychologist. Graduate students completing their practicum should be practicing under the direct supervision of a Licensed Psychologist. Psychologists should have a clear disciplinary record with the Georgia Secretary of State's Office.

Psychiatrists Psychiatrists should be Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). It is preferred that they are also certified in the subspecialty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
