This course will cover from the beginning of civilizations to around 1500. Required Supplies*3 Ring Binder (1 or 1.5 inch)—Do not share this binder with other classes*Loose Leaf Paper*Pens and No. 2 Pencils*Colored Pencils or Markers****Planner/Calendar (HIGHLY Suggested for organization) Bell RingersStudents are expected to enter the classroom on time and begin their bell ringers. Students are to keep up with each bell ringer in their notebook. We will have 1-2 bell ringer quizzes each nine weeks depending on their participation. Students must keep up with their work and be responsible for getting the assignment when they are absent. Tests and QuizzesUnit tests and quizzes will be given at various points in the semester. Students are encouraged to review their materials consistently throughout the week due to the amount of material we will be covering throughout the semester. Pop quizzes may be given throughout the semester to ensure the students are keeping up with their work. Open note quizzes may also be given. HomeworkHomework may be given throughout the course of the semester. Homework will increase if there is a decline in work ethic, participation, and/or success in the classroom.Late Assignments Policy and Make-up WorkLate Work will be accepted for 10 points off each day that it is late (unless there is an excuse). Students who are absent are responsible for initiating contact with the teacher about any work missed. With an excuse, they will then have one week to complete the material missed and return it to the teacher. Students are responsible to make up missed tests or quizzes before or after school within the same week.GradingGrading Scale of Auburn City SchoolsThis class will utilize the total point system. Other consequences will be added if the student accumulates more tardies within the nine-week period.**The order and use of consequences will vary depending on the severity of the infraction. Titan Team PassesEach student will be given 3 restroom passes per nine weeks to use at any time. TechnologyLaptops, cell phones, music players, tablets, gaming devices, etc. will not be utilized in the classroom unless the student is given specific permission. Any infraction of this rule will result in consequences, including confiscation. Water & SnacksNo food or drinks in class (this includes gum).Parents will be receiving emails from me on a regular basis regarding what’s going on in class, student behavior, or any other matters.
