Auburn School District No. 408

June 19, 2014Dear students, families and friends,After ten years as principal at Lake View Elementary, I have decided to take a new job as Director in the Human Resources Department in the Auburn School District. Being at Lake View has been among the greatest pleasures of my life and while some may wonder why I’m leaving a job that I love, I know that all will understand that to grow, we sometimes have to take difficult steps and try things outside of our comfort zone. I believe that learning is a life-long endeavor and am looking forward to learning the many new things that come with this new position. I also believe that the time and place is right for the school. We have a remarkable staff that are deeply committed to student learning and come to school each and every day giving their best for our kids. We have a fantastic parent community who support us wholly and volunteer hours each week in support of our efforts. Our PTA has been second to none in providing activities and financial support for the school. Finally, we have an outstanding group of students who understand what it means to “fly with pride.” I will miss them greatly as I’ve seen so many grow up and out through the years. I am confident that the new principal, John Aiken, will be a great fit with the Lake View community. He has recently been vice-principal at Olympic Middle School and has strong credentials both as a leader and as an educator. Finally, I want to thank you all for your support and trust through the years. I appreciate greatly those of you who shared with me your hopes, dreams and concerns for your children and will cherish this trust as I move to this next phase of my career. 76200160020Sincerely,Mike Weibel ................
