Ladies and Gentlemen:

Paragraph 1 introduces you to the reader and gives a purpose for the letter.

Paragraph 2 traces your development as a learner, crediting people, places, events, and/or ideas that have significantly influenced you.

Paragraph 3 describes a pivotal experience. Describe an important learning event that has had a large impact on you, and make its value clear to the reader.

Paragraph 4 explains how the skills, strengths, interests, and values which define you as a learner are evident in your best works as an Auburn HS student.

Paragraph 5 clearly identifies your chosen pathway and describes your workable, immediate, and long-range employment and/or education plans based on your skills, strengths, interests, and values.

Paragraph 6 is the concluding paragraph. Conclude the letter so it doesn’t just end. Sum up the main points and leave the reader with a positive impression of you.
