INFORMATION FOR ENROLLING IN ACNT 2303

INTERMEDIATE ACCOUNTING I

In order to enroll in this course:

1. you must have completed the prerequisite course, ACNT 1371, Business Applications in Accounting with a grade of C or better; or

2. have already taken Intermediate Accounting I at another school and have a transcript on file at ACC showing completion of this course or submit a copy of a transcript or grade report showing this information.

Students who will complete ACNT 1371 in the current semester have already been approved to register and do not need to e-mail me; if you do not satisfy the prerequisite for ACNT 2303 by the end of the semester however, you will need to retake ACNT 1371 before registering for Intermediate Accounting I.

If you have met the prerequisite by completing ACNT 1371 prior to the current semester, or as described in (2) above and would like to retake Intermediate Accounting I as a refresher, using your ACC g-mail account, please send me an e-mail: dwhite3@austincc.edu with the following information (put ACNT 2303 in the subject area so that I will be able to identify it):

• Your complete name

• Your 7-digit ACC student ID#

• Your phone number

• When and how you have met the prerequisite

COURSE MATERIALS:

ACC students who completed ACNT 1371: You will not have to purchase any new materials for this course. The Kieso text and WileyPlus access code that you purchased for ACNT 1371 this semester are all that you will need for Intermediate I.

OTHER STUDENTS: Students who took the equivalent of Intermediate I at another school and are repeating the course will need to purchase the following:

Intermediate Accounting, 13th Edition, Kieso, Weygandt and Warfield, Pub: Wiley (earlier editions of the text are not acceptable)

WileyPlus access code (free when purchased from ACC bookstore with new text); approximately $80 if purchased separately from publisher

FIRST CLASS DAY ASSIGNMENT: You must come to the first class meeting prepared:

• Read syllabus (will be available in Blackboard on the first day of the semester)—print and bring to first class meeting

• Review Chapter 18: pages 932-936

• Read Chapter 7: Learning Objectives 1-5

• Recommended Exercises: 7-1,4,5,8,9

• Do: Problems 7-1,2,4 (bring to first class meeting)
