Paul Mayer, CEO of Garland Chamber of Commerce- Remarks

Edwin Marrero

• Thank you Mr. Mayer for those remarks and for taking time to be here with us today.

• On behalf of our 74,000 Advance Auto Parts Team Members, it is truly a pleasure to be here to open our first store in the Dallas market, here in Garland.

• For those of you new to the Advance story, we were founded in 1932 and are based in Roanoke, Virginia.

• Advance became a publicly traded company in November 2001, has trades on the New York Stock Exchange and is a member of the Fortune 500.

• Earlier this year, we acquired General Parts International, who operated the Carquest and Worldpac brands, making us the largest automotive aftermarket parts provider with over $9.3 million in sales.

• We now have over 5,200 company-operated stores, 105 Worldpac branches, and serve approximately 1,400 independently owned Carquest branded stores in 49 states, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Canada.

• This store opening is part of a strategic growth plan for the company.

• Since our founding our company has been focused on the following values

o Inspire and build self-confidence and success of every Team Member

o Serve our customers better than anyone else—help them succeed

o Grow the business with profitability and integrity

• We focus our efforts and operations around the company’s Promise—Service is our best part. And as we celebrate this momentous occasion of entering into the Dallas market, we will continue to focus on serving our communities, including here in Garland.

• Advance Auto Parts supports a variety of non-profit organizations at the corporate and local levels and encourages our Team Members to become actively involved in various community-based charitable organizations.

• As our team knows, nationally, Advance Auto Parts is a strong supporter of United Way and JDRF. We are the largest supporter of United Way in Roanoke, where we are headquartered.

• Since 1994, we have raised more than $38 million for JDRF, making Advance Auto Parts JDRF’s number one corporate partner.

• Now, I would like to ask our CEO Darren Jackson to say a few words.

Darren Jackson, CEO Remarks

• Thanks Edwin and congratulations to you and your team on your remarkable opening here today.

• Members of the community – I would like to thank you for your support and being here with us today.

• As Edwin said, Advance’s commitment to Team Members is rivaled only by our commitment to the communities in which the Company’s more than 5,200 stores operate and by the commitment Team Members have to our customers.

• Whether it’s on a national level with JDRF or locally where Team Members are actively involved in various community-based charitable organizations, Advance and our Team Members are tireless in our efforts to give back to the communities in which they live and work.

• At Advance, we talk about being the best and what you are seeing today is a team that is truly showing the best of Advance Auto Parts.

• Again, Dan, you and your team are living our values and truly leading our company on this exciting new journey as we continue to grow as a business. Congratulations team and thanks to all of you.
