Career and Technical Education Credential and Certification ListingUpdated 02-7-2018NOTE: Below is a listing of potential credentialing and certification agencies and organizations for Career and Technical Education programs to include all sixteen nationally recognized Career Clusters. This is not intended as an exhaustive or mandatory list. This will be a living document to properly reflect change and growth. There may be occupational areas (CIP Codes) that do not have a credentialing agency identified. If you are aware of an agency, please contact DPE as soon as possible so that we can update the list for all colleges. Please keep in mind that our goal is to provide our students with the opportunity to build stackable credentials as they navigate their programs of study. This will assist each college in meeting the requirements of the Carl. D. Perkins Law of 2006 but more importantly, make our students more valuable to potential employers. Whenever possible, students should earn their nationally recognized credentials as they move their programs either as part of the courses or end of courses or programs. Some nationally based credentialing agencies may require programmatic certification and/or instructor certification as a part of the student credentialing process. An example of additional credentials that may be very useful for a student, yet not occupational in nature, may include CPR/First Aid, OSHA 10 Hour Safety Training, Servsafe, NOCTI (National Occupational Competency Institute) and etc. This type of credentialing is highly recommended.Should you have any questions, comments, or suggested additions to the list of credentialing agencies, please contact the Department of Postsecondary Education Career and Technical Education.Art RousseauNatalie E.
