Pre-requisite: Computer Graphics I & II or Teacher Permission

Media Productions is a course that will concentrate on what it takes to create a product for various

media styles. Included will be the study of the design elements (scenery, sound, and lighting), and

enhancing the video editing techniques (including special effects) learned in Computer Graphics 2.

Design & Drawing For Production- Tech (3D Modeling Approach)

Grade 9,10,11,12 1 unit

An introductory course, focusing on utilizing the design process to solve technical problems with 2 dimensional drawing techniques and 3 dimensional modeling capabilities.

DDP Tech has been designed to replace the traditional CAD class, and offers the skills developed in the Engineering DDP course for students interested in 3-D modeling, but not necessarily in the pre-engineering program (PLTW).

Upon successful completion of Tech DDP, an interested and competent student, with the instructor’s permission, may challenge the Honors DDP course exam in order to track into the PLTW Pre-engineering CIM class the following year.

***Course will meet the 1 Unit of regents credit for Art/Music***

Honors- Design & Drawing For Production

- A Solid Modeling Approach -

Grades 9 - 12 (Honors) 1 Unit

Pre-requisite: Currently maintaining an 85 or higher average in Math

Students dig deep into the engineering design process, applying math, science, and engineering standards to hands-on projects. They work both individually and in teams to design solutions to a variety of problems using 3D modeling software, and use an engineering notebook to document their work. Software utilized: Autodesk Inventor

***Course will meet the 1 Unit of regents credit for Art/Music***

Principles Of Engineering

Grades 10, 11, 12 (Honors) 1 Unit

Pre-requisite: (1) Honors DDP or Teacher permission from DDP Tech, can take DDP

concurrently as a sophomore.

(2) Successful completion of previous PLTW course and/ or Teacher Recommendation.

Through problems that engage and challenge, students explore a broad range of engineering topics, including mechanisms, the strength of structures and materials, and automation. Students develop skills in problem solving, research, and design while learning strategies for design process documentation, collaboration, and presentation.

Computer Integrated Manufacturing
