Background: A 19 month-old African American girl with a history of epilepsy presented in status epilepticus with a blood glucose of 36 mg/dL. The seizures occurred within 2 hours of a large meal. She had several additional seizures in the setting of normoglycemia. Endocrine and metabolic panels were unremarkable, with only mildly elevated ammonia. ................
