System Messages

There are four types of system messages found in the TDCJ system. They are:

Error Messages

Indicate that the information you have entered is incorrect.

Message Lines

Designate that a process is complete, or provide an explanation of a field.

Option Messages

Provide choices for you to make when entering information.

Prompt Messages

Require you to make a choice in order to complete a function.

When a message displays and the correct response is unclear, request help from a supervisor. If the supervisor cannot solve the problem, call the TDCJ Data Services Help Desk at (409) 2942304.

Corrections Tracking System Messages

The following alphabetized list describes the messages in the Corrections Tracking System:

ALPHABETICAL NAME SELECTION Indicates that you used the key for the ALPHA SEARCH.

BEGINNING OF NAME INQUIRY Indicates that the first record on your screen is the beginning of the name inquiry you specified.

DB2 AUTHORIZATION ERROR/CONTACT D.P. GIVE NUMBER A DB2 error has occurred. Contact the TDCJ Data Services and Communications department, and indicate the number attached to the end of the error message.

DB2 CONNECTION ERROR/CONTACT D.P. GIVE NUMBER A DB2 error has occurred. Contact the TDCJ Data Services and Communications department, and indicate the number attached to the end of the error message.

DB2 HAD NO RECORD ON FILE TO SATISFY THE REQUEST The record you specified was not found in the database. Verify your information and try again.

DB2 HAS A PROBLEM/CONTACT D.P. & GIVE NUMBER A DB2 error has occurred. Contact the TDCJ Data Services and Communications department, and indicate the number attached to the end of the error message.

DB2 HAS MULTIPLE RECORDS FOR REQUEST/CONTACT D.P. DB2 has found more than one record to satisfy your request. Contact the TDCJ Data Services and Communications department immediately!

SOUNDX FILE READ ERROR An error has occurred on the SOUNDX file. Try again.

TABLESV FILE 055 READ ERROR An error has occurred on the TABLESV file. Try again.

TABLESV FILE IS CLOSED The TABLESV file is closed for maintenance. Try again later.

TDC NUMBER INVALID (NOT ON IMF) The TDCJ-ID number you entered is invalid. It was not found on the TDCJ Inmate Master File. Verify your information and try again.

Inmate Inquiry System Messages

The following alphabetized list describes the messages in the Inmate Inquiry System:

BONUST FILE CLOSED FOR MAINTENANCE This file is closed temporarily for maintenance. Try again later.

CALL DATA SERVICES-- MORE THAN 99 COMMITMENTS This offender has more than 99 commitments. Call the TDCJ Data Services Help Desk.

CANNOT ENTER BOTH TDCJ-ID NUMBER AND SID NUMBER A TDCJ number and SID number cannot both be entered at the same time. Enter either a TDCJ number or a SID number to continue processing.
