Web Operations Engineer

Grade: A

Skills and experience

We’re looking for people with who enjoy working in a delivery focused, agile environment.

It is essential that you have:

collaborating closely with colleagues in order to meet users’ needs

using cloud providers such as AWS, GCE, Azure, etc

debugging a complex, multi-server service in a high-availability environment

using languages such as Ruby, Python, Go and Java within an existing production codebase

using configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt, etc

administering common open source databases like MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, etc

familiarity with network protocols – TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS, etc

understanding of application deployment strategies, continuous integration and version control

comfortable with automated testing

It is desirable that you have:

operating, or building a Platform as a Service (PaaS)

working with open source projects

working with Public Key Infrastructure

using containers, distributed schedulers, and minimalist operating systems

producing tooling for other teams to independently build and debug their own services
