1.0 GROUNDWORK/SUBSTRUCTURE
1.1 FOUNDATIONS / SLAB (Subject to confirmation by Structural Engineer)
concrete foundations and slab ( approx 150mm deep slab )
1.2 DPM shall be visqueen 1200 or equal.
2.0 STRUCTURE
2.1 TO PRIMARY SCHOOL BUILDING (Subject to confirmation by Structural Engineer)
Structural steel frame with concrete floors with permanent steel shuttering Structural steel and deck to main roof area.
Exposed steelwork to be galvanized and in accordance with Structural Engineer’s requirements. Structural Steelwork to be primed to receive, Intumescent paint finish.
2.2 TO NURSERY SCHOOL
Timber Kit walls (220mm thick masonite studs with Bitvent external sheathing and panel line internal sheathing and loose composite timber rafters to roof with 22mm thick SW sarking boards ( see wall makeup for further details of wall makeup )
3.0 ROOFS - All Class AA
PRIMARY SCHOOL BUILDING
3.1 GAMES HALL
Corus Falzinc metal roof sheeting on 230mm mineral wool insulation on vapour check on 30mm acoustic insulation on perforated steel liner sheet. ( 5 degree pitch )
3.2 CLASSROOMS/ CIRCULATION
Corus Falzinc metal roof sheeting on 260mm mineral wool insulation on vapour check on steel liner sheet. ( 5 degree pitch )
3.3 OVER LIGHTWELL
Schüco thermally broken Aluminium Skylight double glazed with self cleaning translucent glazing, supported on steelwork structure.
3.4 TO KITCHENS
Erisco Bauder EXTENSIVE ' Green Roof System' Consisting of the following elements:

Bauder PUR ‘V’ Insulation (150mm)

3.5 NURSERY
Corus Falzinc or equal and approved profiled sheeting on 230mm mineral wool insulation on vapour check on 30mm acoustic insulation steel liner sheet. ( 5 degree pitch ), lined internally with slotted birch ply.

Erisco Bauder EXTENSIVE ' Green Roof System' Consisting of the following elements:

3.7 Roof Lights: Classification AA.
All individual glazed roof lights shall be circular top 1200/900mm diameter polycarbonate CoxDome TPX [or equal and approved Class 1 rated in accordance with BS 476: Part 7:1971.
4. EXTERNAL WALLS
TO PRIMARY SCHOOL BUILDING
4.1 Existing External Stonework repaired. And walls lined Internally with Independent metal I stud wall lining system 145mm deep infilled with mineral wool, double lined internally with: 50mm thick thermal laminate board (consisting of 12.5mm plasterboard laminated to Polyurethane insulation) and 12.5mm thick plasterboard with integral vapour check.
TO NURSERY SCHOOL BUILDING
4.2 220mm Thick masonite studs infilled with 220 mm thick Warmcell blown insulation and lined externally with 22mm thick European Larch cladding on 50x50 SW battens on Breather Membrane on Bitvent sheathing. Lined internally with Paneline with 50x50 SW studs and one layer of 15mm thick Fermacell board.
4.3 220mm Thick masonite studs infilled with 220 mm thick Warmcell blown insulation lined with Breather Membrane on Bitvent sheathing with 50mm cavity and 100mm thick blockwork and 20mm self coloured sto render outer leaf. Studs lined internally with Paneline with 50x50 SW studs and one layer of 15mm thick Fermacell board.
5.0 INTERNAL PARTITIONS
TO PRIMARY SCHOOL BUILDING
5.1 Non Loadbearing Partitions.
100mm Thick Metal C studs infilled with 100mm thick mineral wool insulation lined to both sides with two layers of 12.5mm thick plasterboard
5.2 Loadbearing Partitions
100mm Thick Blockwork Lined to either side with two layers of 12.5mm thick plasterboard on MF system.
TO PRIMARY NURSERY BUILDING
5.3 Non Loadbearing Partitions.
100mm Thick Timber studs infilled with 100mm thick mineral wool insulation lined to both sides with 15mm Fermacell.
5.4 Loadbearing Partitions
100mm Thick Timber studs infilled with 100mm thick mineral wool insulation lined to both sides with 15mm Fermacell..
6. WALL LININGS /FINISHES
6.1 Classrooms, corridors, Nursery and toddlers lined with:
6mm bulletin board on 12mm plywood on stud partition as in 5.0 above from 150mm above FFL to a height of 2100mm above FFL
6.2 Services Accommodation, stores, etc: painted blockwork
6.3 Toilets: proprietary laminate board on 38x19mm straps (on vapour barrier at external walls).
6.4 Tiling: to all splashbacks to sinks, WHBs, worktops, etc. Full height wall tiling in all shower areas, disabled toilet/ALN unit.
6.7 Mirrors above tiling to WHBs.
6.8 Timber Acoustic attenuation panels by Soundsorba to Dining Social and Games Halls.
7.0 FLOORS
7.1 Ground floor: 75mm screed on 500 gauge polythene on 75mm rigid polystyrene insulation on RC slab to Structural Engineer's design and specification, on DPM on 50mm compacted Type 1 fill to provide substrate as required by DPM manufacturers.
7.2 Floor finishes:
Carpet to Classrooms, LSS rooms, GP rooms, Nursery Classroom with Linoleum to
wet areas in each.
Linoleum to all circulation spaces, toilets, stores, servery.
Dining/ Assembly Hall : Sprung HW flooring system on dynamic battens.
Social Area : Sprung HW flooring system on dynamic battens.
Hall: Sprung HW flooring system on dynamic battens; sports markings
Shower: slip resistant vitrified floor tiles
Matwell at each external door lobby, with integral drainage through floor slab.
8. CEILINGS
Dining/ Assembly Hall, Nursery classroom: Purpose made 19mm birch plywood [with acoustic groove treatment] laid in panels on 50 x 50 treated SW branders on vapour barrier.
Flat ceilings to Classrooms: lined with 12.5mm thick acoustic plasterboard on metal firring system
Flat ceilings elsewhere: lined with 12.5mm plasterboard on metal firring system
9.0 WINDOWS, GLAZING AND DOORS
9.1 Generally:
Proprietary Velfac 200 composite timber/ metal windows with double glazed low 'e’ units fully draught stripped. Grey anti-sun glazing to windows on south and west.
All glazing to doors, windows and rooflights shall be in accordance with BS 6262 : Part 4 : 1994
9.2 Doors: Veneered solid core glazed, hinged door sets to fire rating specified (FD60S, FD30S, etc). with glazed vision panels; stainless steel ironmongery. Cavity barriers in ceiling void over. Fire doors held open on magnetic devices connected to fire alarm system.
9.3 Double glazed thermally broken reglit glazing system in aluminium channel frame
10.0 DECORATION
1. Walls, ceilings generally: 1 base coat and 2 finishing coats matt emulsion
2. Woodwork: priming coat, 2 coats undercoat and 1 coat gloss
3. Birch plywood: 3 coats clear proprietary varnish to give Class 0 surface spread of flame
11.0 FITMENTS, SUNDRIES, ETC
1. Each classroom and GP space to have stainless steel sink and drainer, base units and worktops at wet area.
2. Nursery Classroom to have stainless 2 no steel sinks and drainers, base units and worktops at wet area.
11.3 T-point to Staff room to have stainless steel sink and drainer, fridge, kitchen units and worktop, hydroboil unit.
11.4 Kitchen to Nursery to have stainless steel sink and drainer, fridge, kitchen units and worktop, cooker.
11.5 Nursery Cloakroom: Purpose made cloakroom fitments in 19mm birch plywood, including footlockers, backboard and coat hooks
2 Shelving to stores in Nursery: adjustable fitted shelving to all internal stores.
4. White boards to each classroom.
5. Staging units to hall
6. Window blinds to all windows.
7. Gym fittings and equipment etc in new hall.
12.0 TOILETS
1. Each toilet shall be fitted with WCs [with automatic flush], urinals, WHBs. Pupils toilets to be fitted with proprietary vandal resistant wall lining /cubicle / IPS system.
2. Changing rooms to be fitted with shower units with thermostatically controlled shower valves, with level access for disabled use and an accessible deep seal trap; shower walls lined with impervious tiling to full height.
3. Adult / Disabled toilet / Shower to be fitted with WC and WHB, Doc M pack, grab rails and proprietary baby change unit, as indicated, to allow wheelchair use. Walls shall be lined with 19mm plywood lining on SW battens up to 2500mm height and tiled throughout.
4. Cleaners stores: Belfast sink with tiled splashback
13.0 SERVICES
13.1 DRAINAGE
Internal foul drainage / External surface drainage / Underground drainage
Underground and above ground drainage shall be proprietary PVCu systems to comply with Part M of the Building Regulations; to be to sight and satisfaction of Local Authority Inspector; to be in accordance with East of Scotland Water requirements for connecting to main drainage.
All external play surfaces [hard and soft] shall have surface water drainage systems. SE to confirm SUDS.
Rainwater
Buildings to employ rainwater recycling for toilet flush systems
External rainwater goods shall be proprietary mill finish aluminium system. Internal RWPs shall be proprietary PVCu system including compatible RWOs at flat roofs, internal valleys.
13.2 MECHANICAL SERVICES (details to be confirmed by Mech E)
New Gas Boiler with LPHW pipe distribution to radiators.

14.4 Gates And Railings
Galv MS security palisade fencing 2400mm high shall be provided to secure playground area as indicated, with gates as required. All barriers shall be constructed so as to prevent the passage of a 100mm diameter sphere between rails/uprights.
5. Car Parking / Paths
New car parking and landscaping formed to Dowanhill Street.
15. DEMOLITIONS
15.1 Existing Façade retained all walls floors and roof and finishes within existing shell removed.
1. Allow for grubbing up existing drainage and external surfaces.
2. Allow for re-routing of existing services and relocating manholes in area under proposed Nursery
