Speller's Choice (Spelling Homework)

Directions: You must do one speller's choice activity EACH NIGHT for HOMEWORK (Monday-Thursday). Please write the date and the name of the activity at the top of the paper and then complete the activity inside your Speller's Choice spiral. **Please choose a different activity each night for your weekly spelling list!** Remember to bring your spiral and word list to school each day.

1. ABC order- Write your words in alphabetical order.

2. Reversed words- Write your words in ABC order... backwards!

3. Rainbow words- Use different colors to write your words.

4. Backwards words- Write your words forwards, then backwards!

5. Silly sentences- Use each of your words in a silly sentence.

6. Pyramid words- Write your words adding one letter at a time. The result will be a pyramid shape of words!

7. Disappearing words- Write each word, then write it again but leave one letter out... then write it again and leave TWO letters out... then three... until your word has disappeared!

Example: cowboy cowboy _owboy __wboy ___boy ____oy _____y _____

8. Computer fun (only if you can print) - Use your computer to type your words. Use different fonts and make it look really fun, then print it out!

9. Friendly Words- Write two words that share a letter so they are touching! Example:

10. Other Handed- If you are right handed, write your words with your left hand! If you are left handed, write your words with your right hand!

11. List ? Write your spelling words 3 times each.

12. Picture Words ? Draw a picture that includes each word. OR Draw a picture for each word and write the word next to it.

13. Scrabble Words ? Students may build their words out of scrabble tiles and glue them in their notebook. Bonus: Find the number value of each word.
