HYPERLINK "" Collins – ECC Lead for Partnership West Essex Stay Safe Group group are conducting an online survey to identify what methods agencies currently use to ensure the voice of the child is heard and, if gaps are identified, to consider how the group might be able to work with partners to improve outcomes for children and young people in this respect.? There may be many different ways in which your organisation seeks and hears the child’s voice and we are trying to gain a better understanding of how this is achieved. Link to the survey here: ’s Partnership board - Stop & think sessions in schools were discussed.Epping Forest the Youth Council have highlighted the top 10 issues. They are: Sexual Health and Mental Health, Gangs, Bullying, Climate Change, loneliness & Isolation, Healthy Relationships & Gambling. Gamcare are looking to do a lot more work with this topic. Details attached to the minutes. On Wednesday 4th March there will be training at the youth centre in Harlow. Rachel Brett CEO ECVYS: ? ECVYS ran a summit in January with over 50 people? in attendance and 30 voluntary groups represented to talk about ?what we were all doing around the violence and vulnerability issue in Essex to keep young people safe. As a result of this we have put together a document to share with the v&v team on what voluntary groups are offering in Essex. Contact the office ASAP if you would like to be included. SET are currently offering a new parenting training to think about what healthy arguments look like. The training is self-referral and each member group was sent leaflets from ECVYS, but more can be made available upon request.? We have a few NSPCC online training course available around keeping children and young people safe online (only 3 left now) please let the office know if you would like to access this, or one of our other courses i.e. food hygiene we also have a grant available for countywide organisations that we would love more groups to access. ? Our youth voice project reports will be out by the end of Feb and we are excited that our report around youth violence in Essex engaged over 600 young people and 48 youth clubs. ? Rachel asked about conference ideas for October and there were some good discussions around emotional health and wellbeing of young people. Cluster Members Input: Helen Kenny – Accuro – Although Helen was unable to attend she sent through the following: Accuro offer social and leisure opportunities across West Essex for children, young people and adults with disabilities. We have now started a new project across Harlow, Uttlesford and Epping called STRIDE for young adults aged 19 and over with a disability to build new skills, enabling them to be independent and make friends.Jokey Poynze Deanery Youth: More information for the holiday Hunger programme will be available soon. It will start in April and hopefully be rolled out across all the churches across Harlow.Lizzie Elysaght – Red Balloon Foundation: The Red Balloon Foundation are working on a similar project with the Children’s Service. Working in schools.Kevin Gay – PACT for Autism: PACT is based in Harlow and supports children and adults with autism. Groups are in Ongar Uttlesford Spangles in Stansted & hoping to go into Loughton. Wild & Wacky is for under12 children and this supports the whole family. Games Cage for the over 11 and this will soon be extended to twice a month. The support group for adults is once a month. There are two information lines to call. Calls will be returned.The information day that is run each year is at Great Parndon Hall on the 16th June. If you would like to attend to bring information please make contact with them. When more information becomes available it will be sent through.Reece Martin – VVU: There is a conference on 13th March in Colchester. The link to Eventbrite for this is on the PFCC website. Please have a look at all the great speakers. There will be workshops during the day.There is an e learning module coming out soon about exploitation. This is an entry level for young people and adults.There is an Every contact counts training package about exploitation and safeguarding young people. This will hopefully be out by the ends of March.Rob Gayler – Lambourne End: have been commissioned by Essex to offer short breaks for young people. They have also had funding for a day for families. This was really popular and feedback really good. They are looking to do this again. Alternative/ complimentary programme are still going. These support what is happening in schools. The food for thought programme helps those that are trying to get back on their feet after mental health problems.Rebecca Stanley EBCG: Some of the clubs took part in the ECVYS curriculum for life sessions which were very enjoyable.The respect project is currently not running in the West of Essex. NCS will be running this summer.
