October 17, 2014

A meeting of the Baltimore City Board of Elections was held at the Baltimore City Warehouse, 301 N. Franklintown Road, Baltimore, MD 21223.

Mr. Charles Mackey from the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court was present to swear-in the Board Members for the Gubernatorial General Election.

The meeting was called to order at 9:15 a.m. by Mr. Lawrence Cager, Board President. A declaration of quorum is present. The September minutes were tabled and will be read at a later meeting.

DIRECTOR'S REPORT

Office & Warehouse Update - The voter's rolls are now closed and the State Board has given the

local boards until October 18 , 2014 to get all registrations entered into MDVoters system. The TV

monitor in the lobby is now working and showing a power point presentation about voting information

for Early Voting and Election Day.

The Fire Department inspected the warehouse and found there were some violations. Mr. Jones is

working with the Fire Department on getting the warehouse up to code.

Warehouse Relocation - The Shannon Road location received another bid because no money had been

allocated for the move. Mr. Jones contacted the Mayor's Office in City Hall and a letter of intent

was signed and issued.

Election Judge Training - Training went well at Winston Elementary School. As of today1,870 judges

have been trained. The election judges liked this new location.

Election Judge - The issue with the two election judges that we had an problem with has not gone

away. They were told that they can work but that they would be placed at different locations,

however they are insistant on working together. They have contacted the Governor's office . . In addition they contacted Baltimore County election board and were told the same thing.

The meeting was recessed at 10:08 to conduct the Logic and Accuracy Testing.

ELECTION EMPLOYEES INVOLVED IN THE L&A TESTING

The testing of the Voting Machines was conducted for Logic and Accuracy. This is a public demonstration of how the testing and preparation was conducted, in accordance with COMAR 33.10.02.16A. One voting machine was selected for testing. Certifications were signed by the board and director verifying that the machine had been properly tested and will properly count votes cast for all offices and are in proper condition. The Board has declared all equipment ready for use in the Gubernatorial General Election to be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014.
