Their outward presentation is more neutral and does not look particularly male or female.Asex: A person that has no evident sex or sex organs. Asexual: A person who generally does not experience, or experiences very little, sexual attraction to other people.Bisexual: A person who is emotionally, physically, and/or sexually attracted to men and women. The attraction does not have to be equally split between genders.Cross dressing: Wearing clothing that conflicts with the traditional gender expression of your sex and gender identity. May be for relaxation, fun, or for sexual gratification.Gay/Lesbian: Refers to a person who is emotionally, physically, and/or sexually attracted to members of the same sex. Preferred over the term “homosexual.” “Gay” is usually used to describe males but may be used to describe females as well. “Lesbian” refers to women.Gender expression: The external display of gender through a combination of dress, demeanor, social behavior, and other factors. Usually measures on a scale of masculinity and femininity.Gender identity: A person’s internal sense of being masculine, feminine, or other gendered.Genderqueer: A person whose gender identity is neither male nor female, is between genders, or is some combination of genders. Heterosexual: Medical definition for a person attracted to someone of the opposite biological sex. Also known as “straight.”Homosexual: Medical definition for a person attracted to someone of the same biological sex. Considered offensive by some members of the LGBT community.Intersex: Someone whose physical sex a doctor has a difficult time categorizing as either male or female. The anatomy, chromosomes, and/or hormones do not fit within the labels of male and female.Lesbian: Term used to describe female-identified people who are physically, sexually, and/or emotionally attracted to other female-identified people.Queer: Historically a derogatory term for LGBT people, it has been reclaimed by the LGBT community as a symbol of pride. Some members of the LGBT community might still find it offensive.
