Introduction

This is the sixteenth revision of this publication developed in 1965 to provide FFA, Parliamentary Procedure and Agriculture Industry information for use by teachers and students of Agricultural Education in Arizona. The questions and answers are in a form that may be duplicated by teachers for student use by simply omitting the answers in brackets.

The publication should also be used as a source of questions to be asked of contestants in the local, district, and state FFA Information Contest.

The booklet is divided into four major sections (A, B, C, and D) according to the type of questions.

Instructions for running the Best Informed Greenhand (or “BIG”) CDE

Students will be asked to sit in a line with only contestants participating in the contest. There will be no talking allowed. The person running the CDE will begin in section A of this booklet and will ask the first student a randomly selected question from section A. The students answer must be exactly the same as the one stated in this booklet. Each student is allowed to miss one (1) question. After they miss two questions they will be asked to leave the contest. If student A misses a question and student B answers the same question correctly, student A’s answer will officially be counted as incorrect. If all students miss the question, no student’s answer will be counted as incorrect. Once a student has two incorrect answers, that student will be asked to leave the contest. The person running the event will continue in this same manner through all sections of this document until there are four students remaining. At that point in the event, the person running the event will organize the final four remaining students and prepare them to participate in section D. The results of the section D shall remain confidential until the awards ceremony.
