The Student Testing Calendar for the school year 2019-2020 includes the following Maryland State assessments:

Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP): As of July 1, 2018, MCAP will be the overarching umbrella for all Maryland State Assessments as listed below.

English Language Arts/Literacy (ELA/L) and Mathematics (Two different tests) ? Grades 3 ? 8 in English Language Arts/Literacy and ELA/L 10* ? Grades 3 ? 8 in Mathematics, and Algebra I*, Algebra II, Geometry

High School Assessments ? Government* ? HS-MISA*

* High School Graduation Requirement

Maryland Integrated Science Assessment (MISA) ? Grades 5 and 8

Alternate Maryland Integrated Science Assessment ? (Alt-MISA) ? Grades 5, 8, and 11 for students with significant cognitive disabilities who are unable to participate in the Maryland Integrated Science Assessment even with accommodations.

Multi-State Alternate Assessment (MSAA) ? Grades 3-8 and 11 in English Language Arts and Mathematics for students with significant cognitive disabilities who are unable to participate in the MCAP assessment even with accommodations.

English Language Proficiency Assessment (ELPA): ACCESS for ELLs (K-12) and Alternate ACCESS for ELLs (1-12)

? Test of English language proficiency administered to active English learners, including parent refusals ? Measures English language proficiency in the areas of listening, speaking, reading, writing, oral,

comprehension, and literacy

Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA) ? An assessment to address the end of Prekindergarten skills, knowledge, and behaviors that students possess at the beginning of the Kindergarten year.

Social Studies 8 ? An assessment of Middle School United States History and social studies skills and processes in Grade 8
