Welcome to Bank of America Direct. This guide provides instructions for users connecting to Bank of America Direct for the first time.

Step 1

Locate Your Company ID, User ID, and Startup Password

As a Bank of America Direct user, you should have received this information from your company administrator via email. Please follow the instructions in the email carefully so that you can access Bank of America Direct.

Note.

If you cannot locate your company ID, user ID, or startup password, contact Bank of America Technical Support at 1.888.589.3473.

Step 2

Install Your Digital Certificate

A digital certificate is a computer-based record that allows Bank of America to validate your identity and protect your information. Each time you access Bank of America Direct, you will be requested to choose the digital certificate that has been issued to you by Bank of America Direct and successfully installed on your computer.

To install your digital certificate:

1. Go to the digital certificate pickup site by typing the following URL in your browser:

3. When you are requested to test the certificate, click Test.

If the digital certificate has successfully installed on the system, a confirmation message will appear on the Digital Certificate ? Validation Success screen. You may close the browser at this time or continue to access Bank of America directly from the validation screen (see below).

If you cannot pick up or install your digital certificate, contact Bank of America Technical Support at 1.888.589.3473.

Step 3

Sign On to Bank of America Direct

Once you have installed your digital certificate, you can proceed to sign on.

To sign on to Bank of America Direct: 1. After installing your digital certificate, either:

Click Logon on the Digital Certificate ? Validation Success screen.

or

? In the address line of your browser, type: and press Enter. Your browser prompts you to choose your digital certificate for validation.

2. Follow the instructions displayed.

2. Click your digital certificate to highlight it and click OK. When you have completed the prompts, the Bank of America Direct log on page appears.

6. Select six questions that will be used to identify you later if you forget your password and click Continue. The Answer Challenge Profile Questions screen appears, containing the six questions that you selected.

3. Type your company ID in the Company ID field.

4. Type your user ID in the User ID field.

5. Type your startup password in the Password field and click Enter. The Challenge Profile screen appears.

7. In the field after each question, type an answer that you can easily remember. Click Save. The Create a New Password screen appears.

Establishing Passwords

To create a new Bank of America Direct password: 1. Type a new password in both the New Password field and

the Confirm Password field. The new password must:

Contain at least eight characters. Contain at least one alpha and one numeric character. Not be identical to any of your previous eight

passwords. Not contain any spaces or special characters such as #,

*, &, @, or !

2. Click Save. The Online Privacy Policy screen appears.

Privacy and Security 1. Read the policy, and if necessary, print it. To continue

logging in, click I Accept. 2. The Bank of America Direct home page appears.

You are now ready to use Bank of America Direct.
