Americas Service Locator



America's Service Locator and the Toll-Free Help Line (1-877-US-2JOBS) is a partnership between the US Department of Labor, state governments and local agencies to provide a comprehensive database of service providers accessible via phone or the Internet to the public. Use of the database is free of charge and directs customers to a range of services available in their area: unemployment benefits, job training, youth programs, seminars, education opportunities, disabled or older worker programs and much, much more.

Federal Research and Evaluation Database



The Federal Research and Evaluation Database (FRED) enables analysis of the Workforce Investment Act Standardized Record Data (WIASRD), which is data annually submitted by states on WIA exiters` demographic characteristics, the services they received, and the outcomes they achieved after exit. FRED currently contains information on exiters who left WIA by June 30, 2001 and June 30, 2002.

Workforce Tools of the Trade



Workforce Tools of the Trade, a part of the CareerOneStop, is solely targeted to fostering the professional growth of those in the workforce development field across all levels of the system-front line staff, managers, administrators and partners. These professionals help citizens and business meet their workforce development needs.

The site provides access to a database of information about the education and training services, products and providers professionals need to excel at their jobs. In addition, Workforce Tools of the Trade fosters collaboration and communication among those in the workforce development profession through a variety of innovative features and functionalities. These include real-life examples from colleagues, interviews with workforce development professionals, links to nationwide workforce development web sites, a list serve function, and the ability to customize the site to suit the preferences of the individual user.

Workforce Tools of the Trade, along with America's Job Bank, America's Career InfoNet and America's Service Locator, comprise the CareerOneStop portal.

is dedicated to the work of workforce development. It is designed for the day-to-day needs of workforce development practitioners in community-based organizations, community colleges, private firms, employer associations, unions, economic development organizations, One Stop Career Centers, Workforce Investment Boards and elsewhere. It is intended as a site of shared learning.
