Bio:

Richard Schweitzer, a co-founder of Fridson Advisors has worked in partnership with FIA visionary Rich Hollander on multiple projects including entity formation, acquisition, integration, growth, and divestiture since 1996. Mr. Schweitzer has assisted numerous investment management companies as a strategic partner, advising leadership teams as they pursue and achieve their goals.

Most recently Mr. Schweitzer was the CFO and COO for Wachovia Global Securities Lending. Schweitzer began his career as an auditor at Price Waterhouse. Schweitzer parlayed his accounting experience by working for Security Pacific Bank analyzing and reporting the tax characteristics of complex mortgage-backed securities.

After Bank of America acquired Security Pacific he then became the manager of the Bond Administration Department in Bank of America’s Mortgage and Asset Securities Services Division. In 1992, Schweitzer joined the Pilgrim Group and its successor firm, Astra Management Company, where he successfully managed the liquidation of a large pool of complex mortgage backed securities.

Schweitzer’s first venture with Rich Hollander was in the successful creation of Metropolitan West Financial, a firm focused on acquiring highly talented investment professionals and investment companies. He served as the firm’s COO and CFO. As part of the proven process Schweitzer serves on the acquired or newly created investment management company’s board of directors, executive management committee and/or investment and credit committees.

Schweitzer is a charted financial analyst (CFA) and a certified public accountant (CPA). He is a member of the California State University, Northridge School of Business Advisory Board. Schweitzer has a Masters in Business Administration degree from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Accounting and Finance) from California State University, Northridge. A Los Angeles native, Schweitzer and his wife reside in Manhattan Beach, California with their two children.
