Face Covering Update

Alvin ISD is commi ed to health and safety and has taken extensive steps to keep our staff and students healthy over the past year.

This week, the State of Texas announced they are li ing statewide mandates rela ng to COVID-19. As a result, the Texas Educa on Agency updated its public health guidance. Under this updated guidance, a public-school system's current prac ces regarding masks may con nue unchanged. Local school boards have full authority to determine their local mask policy.

A er coordina ng with local health officials, in accordance with TEA requirements and CDC guidelines, Alvin ISD will maintain the mask protocols that are currently in place. We will con nue to require masks be worn at our facili es through the end of the 2020-21 school year.

Due to the instructional days missed during the winter storm, Alvin ISD had decided to cancel the Remote Learning Day that was scheduled for March 24, 2021. Face-to-face students will now attend their regular classes on campus that day and AVL students will attend their regular virtual classes. Thank you for understanding.
