Have you felt like time is standing still over the past 9 months? It may not have completely stopped but from a design and construction standpoint is has decelerated to a much slower pace.

The pandemic has caused extensive delays in the production and delivery of materials and supplies, affecting both construction and remodels.

The Kitchen & Bath Industry Show, International Builders Show, and The International Surfaces Event have been virtual events this year and lacked the introduction of new design trends because of delays in manufacturing.

What does this mean from a design standpoint? In my opinion, it means we will see many of the trends from 2020 carry into 2021. I do not think this is a bad thing as the designs from 2020 haven't really had their time to shine. If you were not so crazy about some of the 2020 color trends then you will be happy to know that paint colors are the one thing that the design world did move forward with in 2021.
