Student Instructions – Network DesignProject: Review network basics from the worksheet, then draw a network using the software at: : Be sure to read the directions before starting the project. It will save you time overall.Activity:Search the Internet using the keywords, “network configurations.” There are several different ways to configure a network. For example, there are star patterns, bus patterns, and ring patterns. Look at the three configurations along with the advantages and disadvantages of each. For this project, you will draw or illustrate the extended star pattern or star topology. Topology simply means how the physical components of the network are plete this project in Word or PowerPoint. Review the network basics handout. For this project, illustrate how an extended star pattern network is connected by drawing six computers, two printers, two scanners, two laptops connected through wifi, two switches, a server, and a box that represents the T1 line that connects everyone on the network to the Internet. Remember that all of the components on the network are connected to one another through the network server through switches. Use the program at this website to draw your design: When you are finished, take screen shot, paste into a word document, crop and print.
