I. PREPARATION

Overall Objectives

1. Knowledge of basic commands in the language

2. Using the target language communicatively.

3. The skill in following short, simple directions and instructions

4. The ability to comprehend what to hear and demonstrate it.

Behavioral Objectives

By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:

1. follow basic classroom instructions.

2. match the instruction with their pictures.

3. give basic classroom commands/instructions.

II. PRESENTATION

1- Warm-Up

The teacher greets the students in the target language and she try to take her students’ attention by giving instructions. She uses only two instructions and while giving these instructions -sit down/stand up- she demonstrates them to the student because they don’t know them. Also; she uses her gestures and mimes. They do these two or three times. To motivate them she sometimes says ‘well down, great etc’. So; it can be an enjoyable start for the lesson. These expressions encourage students to participate in the lesson.

2) Stating the Instructional Objectives

After performing the warm up part, the teacher wants students to look at the board. She shows some pictures related to the basic classroom instructions by using a power point presentation.

3) Presenting the Instructional Objectives

The teacher shows the instructions visually from the power point and read them loudly. At the same time she demonstrates these instructions in the classroom. She wants students to repeat these. Also, they act each instruction while they are repeating after the teacher. The teacher uses their students in the classroom while showing the instructions to make them understand better. For example; they raise their hand, open their books close their books etc. Therefore; they not only see the pictures and instructions but also they act them.

III. PRACTICE

The teacher hands out a worksheet and gives the instruction clearly to the students. She wants the students to look at the pictures on the worksheet and match them with the suitable instructions. In the second activity they try to write instructions according to the pictures.

IV. PRODUCTION

In that part of the lesson, the students work in pairs. They give instructions to each other and they act them in the classroom.

V. SUMMARY

The teacher summarizes the lesson. At the end of the lesson, the teacher says “that’s end of the lesson. Thank you. See you next lesson.
