Basics of Shotgun Shooting Course

The NRA Basics of Shotgun Shooting Course introduces students to the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a Shotgun safely. Through this course, the student will learn about Shotgun parts and operation, ammunition, gun safety, Shotgun shooting fundamentals, and Shotgun shooting activities. The Basics of Shotgun Shooting Course is a prerequisite for participation in the NRA Shotgun Instructor course. The curriculum includes both classroom and range activities. You must bring your own Eye and Hearing Protection, and wear comfortable clothing for outdoor activity. Bring your own 20ga. or 12ga. Shotgun, plus a minimum of 3 boxes of the appropriate Shotshells, #8 shot. We will have a limited number of Shotguns for loan. Brown Bag lunch as there will not be adequate time to go off-site. Your package includes the NRA Shotgun Shooting Handbook, and Targets, plus expendable materials.

You must be at least 14 yrs. of age, and a registered member of the BSA to attend this course.

Fee: $45.00

Advance registration is required by March 23, 2020. Course limited to max. 16 participants.
