2016 VOC Achievements.Great achievements on the 2016 Outdoor Athletics Season, VOC Athletics Program under the leadership of the Head Coach, Tatjana Mece. Our coaching staff, with Steve Nobbs, Jerin Mece, Gurchet Kandola, and Besnik Mece, lead by the Head Coach, Tatjana Mece, prepared for the BC High School Championship competition. 20 athletes from 13 high schools from the Vancouver Lower Mainland, winning 17 medals (8 Gold, 7 Silver and 2 Bronze), with 8 Individual BC Champions, and at the BC Athletics Jamboree Championship, our athletes won 15 medals ( 8 gold, 2 Silver and 5 bronze).At the Canadian National Championships in Edmonton, Anastas Eliopoulos won Silver in the 110mH with 13.84, breaking the BC junior record. Jasper Schiedel won the bronze medal in 400mH with a PB of 54.24, and Nina Schultz, of New West Spartans, won bronze medal with a PB of 13.98 in the 100mH. Nina Schultz had a great success, ranking # 6th in the World Junior Championship in Heptathlon, in Bydgoszcz - Poland.All VOC athletes are trained in our system, from the early age of the JD group, up to the Provincial and National Level, towards World Youth and Junior Championships.2016 Achievements from the athletes in the VOC Athletics Program:1. Julia Ho, performed very well in triple Jump at the BC High School Championships 12 .Quinn Bovel performed very well at the final of 300m at BC Jamboree Championships13. Ben Paetzel, Thomas Broatch, Sam Correa, Dylan Cheng, Tyler Hicks, Julia Ho, Jillian Wong, Sidney Pavao, Paris Eliopoulos, and Quinn Bovel, achieved great results at their high school and BC Athletics meets in their respective events.14. BC Junior Development Championship.VOC athletes had great performances at the BC Junior Development Championships.Thomas Ma won the BC Champion gold medal in Long Jump with 5.34m and two silver in 80mH and 200mH with respective results of 12.37 and 27.64Kaitlyn Loo, won BC Champion tiles and gold medal with the BC Awards Standards in triple jump with the results of 10.15m and Long Jump in 5th place with 4.38m.Sophie Fernback won three Silver medals with a personal best in High Jump with 1.55m, Triple Jump with 9.76m and 8.05m in Shot Put and a bronze in Long Jump with 4.47m, with a personal best in the 80mH with 13.41 coming in at 5th place.Huge progression was made by Karina Shuen, 6th place in the 100m final with 13.78 and 200m 28.74. Shuen demonstrated amazing performances and shows great potential for future competitions.Tilda Cressman had a great race in the 800m with 2:45.79 and a PB of 14.69 in the 80mH coming in at 7th place.Clara Tjoa ran a strong 200mH winning her heat with the time of 32.03 coming in 5th overall and 4.27m in Long Jump.Paris Eliopoulos was selected with zone 5 at the BC Summer Games performing very well in the Long Jump at 5th place with 4.89m ................
