SEPTEMBER Every Wednesday starting September 13th ? Library 2:30-3:30 PM, After-School College Application Help Sessions** Mrs. Waskey and Ms. Serico will be available to assist seniors with finalizing college lists, registering for the SAT/ACT and completing college applications. Parents can accompany their student if they have questions.

Tuesday, September 26th - Library 1st and 2nd Period, College Connections A CCBC representative, will provide an informational session preparing all seniors for their transition to college. Topics include the importance of campus visits, researching schools, application deadlines, scholarships and financial aid. The option of CCBC and the majors and opportunities that they offer students will also be discussed.

OCTOBER Wednesday, October 11th 9AM-12PM, PSAT Day & College Field Trips 9th ? 11th PSAT Testing 12th Students may sign up for school sponsored field trips to local colleges or trade programs. Seniors may also use this day to visit a post-secondary institution of their choosing.

Wednesday, October 18th? Main Cafeteria 6-8 PM, COLLEGE APPLICATION & FAFSA NIGHT** 6-7 pm Nasim Keshavarz, Assistant Director of Financial Aid at CCBC, will help parents understand financial aid and share the changes to the FAFSA, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. 7-8 pm PHS counselors will present on various aspects of the college application process.

NOVEMBER Wednesday, November 8th ? Main Cafeteria & Break Out Rooms 6 PM, COURSE REGISTRATION NIGHT** Open to 9-11th grade students and parents. Information will be shared on what courses and CTE programs are offered at Parkville High School. This prepares students to make informed decisions during registration in December.

Wednesday, November 8th ASVAB Test (first administration) Parkville will administer this multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. (Students sign up in the School Counseling Office)

Tuesday, November 14th - Main Cafeteria 6 PM, CCBC EARLY COLLEGE ACCESS NIGHT** Join us to learn more about the BCPS/CCBC Early College Access partnership. Requirements for parallel enrollment as well as the BCPS 100% tuition free program and dual credit opportunities will be discussed.

JANUARY Wednesday, January 17th ? TBD 6PM, FAFSA COMPLETION NIGHT** Melissa Figgs, Financial Aid Counselor from Stevenson University, will help parents/guardians and their students fill out the FAFSA application. Please bring with all essential documents needed to fill out the application.

FEBRUARY Wednesday , February 7th ASVAB Test (second administration) See November for information

TBD Early College Access Program Information Session Juniors who are interested in participating in Early College Access programs will meet to discuss requirements, benefits of the programs and how they can get started.

Thursday, February 1st ? Library Computer Lab FAFSA Frenzy Day** (Parent/Students are encouraged to attend and must sign up in Counseling Office) Senior parents and students are invited to meet with Ms. Serico to receive assistance filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, FAFSA. Please come with all essential documents.

MARCH TBD ? CCBC Essex Accuplacer Field Trip (lunch is included) Field trip to CCBC for Accuplacer testing. (40 spots available) Juniors will test, meet with an advisor.

TBD - Library CCBC Day Seniors are invited to attend CCBC Day where various departments come to meet with students and share program offerings. There will also be representation from Financial Aid, Honors Program, International Student Services and Continuing Education (non-credit). Seniors have the opportunity to participate in Instant Admissions. They will automatically receive their CCBC ID number and meet with an advisor to discuss their next steps for enrollment.

APRIL

Tuesday, April 10th ? Parkville High SAT Day All juniors will take the SAT at Parkville High during the regular school day. This test is free.

MAY

TBD ? Main Cafe College Signing Day This is national initiative developed by former First Lady Michelle Obama, as part of the Reach Higher campaign, encourages students to pursue their education after high school. College Signing Day is a celebration of our high school seniors who are committing to attend a two or four year university.

TBD -Auditorium SENIOR AWARDS CEREMONY The class of 2018 will be recognized for their accomplishments throughout high school including academic and departmental awards as well as scholarships received. All seniors are welcome to attend and those who will be recognized will receive an invitation. Parents and families are encouraged to attend this event during the week of senior activities.
