It's hard to believe this is the final newsletter of the school year! This is a great time to reflect on how much your child has grown this year. It is a joy to watch them grow socially, emotionally, and academically. Thank you for sharing this important year with us.
As you make plans for your summer, please include the reading program at the Cockeysville Library. Students need to keep reading all summer to maintain all they learned this year and to be prepared to begin the 2019-2020 school year. In addition, have them write in a journal over the summer. This is a great way to record thoughts and ideas when on vacation or during a quiet moment in the heat of the summer. To keep the math skills fresh, ask kids to count change at the store or tell how much time needs to elapse before a movie starts.
As we say goodbye to the 2018-2019 school year, we also say farewell to Ms. Anne Leppert (grade 4 teacher) and Mrs. Kate Schmick (speech and language pathologist). While we will miss the vitality and sense of enthusiasm for learning that these staff members bring to the learning process, we send them our best wishes for much success in the years to come.
Thank you for sharing your children with us and participating in their education throughout the year. I want to wish everyone a safe, relaxing and enjoyable summer!

School Store
School Store Closed on May 31.
I want to thank the wonderful students who made the school store a success this year. These fourth and fifth graders came to the store twice a week to run the cash register and to help shoppers. They are Londyn Brooks, Esther Mesioye, Dimitri Lymperis, Jaydn Johnson and Andrew Koch. Also 4 adults helped me from October to May. I could not do the store without them: Steve Cromwell, Victoria Kinsler, Janet Wehner and Ken Hall. My sincere thanks to all of you.
Please come check out the store next year when you come to meet your child's teacher. Get the school supplies you missed as well as other much desired items! Help our new helpers learn how to use the register and treat customers.
School Supplies...Buy them OR Have them on your child's desk the first day of school with no hassle?!?
The requested school supply list for next year will be sent home to you. You will also get another copy in the August mailing. All items on the list should be at school with your child on the first day. If you wish you can have the PTA do it FOR YOU! The PTA will buy the right supplies for your child, label them, and put them on his or her desk the first day of school.
HOW? Use the Supplies by PTA program. Fill out the form. Send in a check, money order or cash. The school supplies will be on your child's desk the first day of school. You have received a copy but if you need an extra, either come to the office or email
spivakcpa@. Give it a try. Easy. Accurate. Support your PTA.
The school store stocks all the school supplies on the lists for K to 5th grade. If you buy the supplies yourself but are missing one or two items, or if your child runs out during the year, please think of the store as your child's place to go for those supplies. Hope to see you soon!

BCPL SUMMER READING: A UNIVERSE OF STORIES
BCPL SUMMER READING: A UNIVERSE OF STORIES
As reported in Scholastic's Kids & Families Reading Report: Key Facts About Summer Reading, the "summer slide" reading loss can be prevented by encouraging children to read over the summer. As a result, ALL Warren students are invited to participate in the BCPL Summer Reading program - a collaborative effort between Baltimore County Public Library branches and BCPS school libraries to promote reading throughout the summer months. This program is easy, fun, and free! This year's theme, A Universe of Stories, will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon. Throughout the summer, students can work their way through the game board earning points for reading books, completing activities, or writing online book reviews. Families can play on paper or online. When students earn 20 points, they have completed the game and can visit any branch to receive a prize! Mrs. Argiriadi and Ms. Schautz will be promoting Summer Reading during students' regularly scheduled library classes in the coming weeks. Each student will receive a BCPL game board. Additional information, including how to register, is shared below.

Warren Elementary's Virtue of the Month Program- June - Forgiveness
The Gift of Character:
Warren Elementary is continuing our virtues language program. Students are embracing these virtues and complimenting each other for demonstrating them. For the month of June our main virtue is Forgiveness. The virtues that go well with Forgiveness are Loyalty, Love. Consideration and Enthusiasm. It takes Consideration of ourselves and others to realize and admit that everyone makes mistakes. It is important to take Responsibility and still Love ourselves, rather than punish ourselves with guilt if we make a mistake. We can learn from our mistakes and help others to do the same by showing them Loyalty and Forgiveness. We can share our feelings about how we feel when someone harms us, without taking revenge. We can Love ourselves by not giving uncaring people a chance to keep hurting us. This month let's especially remember that we are Forgiving of others. We show Loyalty and Enthusiasm by giving someone another chance after they have done something wrong. We show ourselves the same Love and Consideration by having Faith that we can change. We know we have the power to change our lives and the lives of others for the better! Let's approach the end of the year fun with Enthusiasm and readiness to Forgive, so we can maximize Joy!
