Don't forget, Jukebox Quilts is happy to repair or provide factory authorized warranty or maintenance services on your machine. Warranty services are provided in-shop, travel fees apply if you need us to come to your location.

Additional cleaning and maintenance is available for very reasonable rates. We can come to you, or you can bring your machine head to us! For the rest of March and all of April, we'll work on your machine for $55 per hour (normal price is $75) plus travel, if necessary. Call for appointments. If you want us to notify you when we visit your area, email us with your zip code and contact information, and we'll contact you prior to our scheduled trips and deliveries to your area. This is a great way to save, and to provide a little TLC for that machine that works so hard for you!

Oil Instructions

Visit Gammill's website for their video on "Preparation Before Quilting Part 1" for accurate information on how to oil your machine. There is also a printable sheet at . Recently, we've picked up a few local machines for repair where oil has literally poured out of the machine when we go to lift it up. If you follow the directions in the video, you will normally see a drop or two on the table when you park it between uses (place a towel or piece of batting under the area directly below the brass cup that you drop 10-12 drops of oil in every 8 hours of use to catch these drips). If this area is dry between uses, you are not oiling enough. If you are buying oil by the gallon, and saturate the towel under your machine head with oil, you are oiling too much. The excess will not only be on your table, but will obey the law of gravity and drip on your floor (carpet) or possibly hitch an unwelcomed ride on your customer's quilt or unsuspecting Gammill repairperson's clothing.

So... speaking of stains...

Many of us have always kept cornstarch handy (in a salt shaker) to sprinkle on oil spots on zippered leads or other fabrics. Let it sit overnight, then vacuum clean the next day. I found a great website that lists solutions for every stain imaginable. Who knew zucchini could stain? Visit . extension.illinois.edu/stain/ for tips on stains from a huge number of causes. I think this is an awesome site, and one you'll want to bookmark (may you never need it...). A special thanks to Susan Taylor, Extension Educator, Consumer & Family Economics at University of Illinois Extension for this valuable website. She reports there is also a mobile application for the days when the salad dressing misses your mouth and ends up on your clothes!
