Below is a brief outline of the application process and timeline. Please keep this page for future reference. Please read the entire packet. All necessary information is included.The application process consists of three phases: PHASE ONE- APPLICATION PROCESS: January 29, 2018 through March 7, 2018Applications will be made available at all BISD middle school campuses in the counselor’s office. ALL completed applications must be submitted to your student’s middle school counselor by Wednesday, March 7, 2018. Please note that any applications received after the deadline will be considered late and may not be eligible for review based on the number of applications received. Applications will be reviewed by the ECHS Admissions Committee. PHASE TWO- INTERVIEW PROCESS: April 2018 Students accepted into this phase will be selected for the interview process. The ECHS Admissions Committee will assist with interviewing. During this time, parents/guardians will also be interviewed regarding their student’s college readiness and academic preparedness. Parents/guardians and students will also be required to sign a letter of commitment to the expectations of the Early College High School as part of preliminary acceptance. PHASE THREE- FINAL SELECTION PROCESS: May 2018The ECHS Admissions Committee will review each student’s completed application packet, including instruments administered during the interview process, and determine final acceptance or non-acceptance to the Early College High School for the 2018-2019 academic year. The application to BISD Early College High School starts on the next page. The deadline to return the application is Wednesday, March 7, 2018 to your 8th grade counselor. Late applications may not be eligible for review based on the number of applications received. Once an application is submitted, it becomes the property of Beaumont ISD Early College High School, and it will not be returned to you.To apply, you must: Completely fill out the application form and return it to your counselor. Be a resident of the City of Beaumont. Have a desire to achieve and a willingness to work hard. Go through the interview process. * Two recommendations will be required from your current campus. Recommendations must be obtained from a Math, Science, Social Studies, or English teacher. Eligibility requirements for admission into BISD Early College High School are as follows: The student must be a resident of the City of Beaumont. The student must meet the requirements for promotion from 8th to 9th grade.The application must be completed and returned by March 7, 2018. The applicant must be available to attend the ECHS interview process in April and the Summer Bridge program in the summer of 2018 (date to be determined).
