Odom Academy provides Beaumont Independent School District students with a unique opportunity to pursue an individualized program that meets the needs of all students. Special programs focus on academic acceleration as well as on special interests and talents.Odom Academy offers all students an opportunity to showcase their ability and challenge themselves through programs that range from regular offerings to highly specialized classes in academic areas and in the arts. High expectations are maintained for all students with all incoming students expected to sign an academic contract. Parents are urged to be regular visitors and active participants in their children’s education at the Academy.All students who have scored “approaching” or higher (met/mastered) on all parts of Fourth grade STAAR during the previous school year may apply to the Academy. Not every student admitted qualifies for the Pegasus program. If a student is highly academically advanced, he/she will have access to the Pegasus classes. Students placed in Pegasus classes will be maintained in the accelerated program only if their achievement shows their ability and maturity to complete high school credit in the eighth grade. Pre-AP and regular classes are also provided.If you are interested in your child’s attending Odom Academy, please complete the attached application, provide the requested documentation, and return to your child’s principal by Wednesday, December 12th, 2018. Students attending private schools must return the application to Odom Academy. If your application is not complete, it cannot be processed.
