Describing a tree in summer, spring, autumn and winter.
This post makes describing a tree with the five senses easy. It is a Level 1 post, which means it is easy to follow and rewarding for English beginners (i.e. beginners in secondary school).

A SPRING TREE 1. There is a tree in our garden and it has mint-green leaves. 2. Its leaves are very crispy. 3. They are silk-soft to the touch. 4. The tree has a baked apple smell in the spring. 5. Its fruit tastes like candy. 6. The branches are antler-shaped.

7. Carolling birds sing from the tree top.

A SUMMER TREE 1. Trees in summer are paradise-green. 2. The forest floor is crinkly when you walk on it. 3. The bark of the trees feels like frozen, bubbled soup. 4. The smell in the forest is like freshly-pressed laundry. 5. The fruit in the forest is syrup sweet when you bite into it. 6. The branches of the trees are shaped like Neptune's fork. 7. Cooing pigeons haunt the tops of the trees. 8. The shaggy heads of the trees is a leafy paradise. 9. Creeping shadows grow with the sunrise. 10. Sunlight arrows through the branches of the trees.

AN AUTUMN TREE 1. Trees burn in bonfire-reds and sunflame ?gold in the autumn. 2. The sound of thunking nuts hitting the ground is a sign of autumn. 3. The bark of the trees becomes flaky and crumbly. 4. The tutti-fruity smell of ripening fruit ghosts through the air. 5. There is an earthy taste to the nuts if you crunch into them. 6. The branches of the trees are shaped like lightning forks. 7. Drumming woodpeckers sound like a rap song. 8. The trees are the skyscrapers of the forest. 9. The time-chiselled trees can seem weary at times.
