WHO WE ARE

Debt Counseling Corporation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit group of Certified Personal Finance Counselors who can help you get out of debt. We are compliant with the requirements of ISO, an international quality standard which indicates excellence in our field. Debt Counseling Corporation is also a member of the Association for Independent Consumer Credit Counseling Agencies (AICCCA). As a member we adhere to their strict standards. We are proud of our A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

Our credit counselors are independently certified through the Center for Financial Certifications and receive ongoing in-house training through Debt Counseling College©, our educational division. This enables Debt Counseling Corporation to offer you the most current financial management solutions.

Since our inception in September 1995, we have helped thousands of people in financial situations just like yours. We have successfully resolved their debt and credit issues.

Services WE Provide

We provide free ongoing counseling and education to anyone interested in learning how to manage their debt while maintaining a dignified lifestyle. Our free services include:

• Debt analysis

• Personalized budget planning tailored to your specific needs and circumstances

• Educational materials, plus our semi-annual online newsletter, The Consumer Advocate.

• Social Service referrals, when appropriate

• Assistance with identifying and reaching short and long-term financial goals

• On and off-site seminars and educational events on financial management topics related to credit, debt management, bankruptcy and housing. Seminars are conducted throughout Long Island, New York. To schedule a seminar or educational event at your site, please contact our Education Director at 1.888.354.6332 ext. 316

• Follow-up contact to provide ongoing counseling, education and support

• Recommendations on the best strategies available to help you manage your debt, which may include our debt consolidation Debt Management Program

DEBT MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

Benefits include:

• Significantly reduced interest rates on your credit cards and other unsecured debts

• Lower monthly payment amounts

• Faster repayment of your debts with more of your payment applied toward the principal instead of going to pay off high interest fees

• One convenient monthly payment

• A possible alternative to bankruptcy

• Ongoing counseling and support at regular intervals

• Peace of mind. Harassing phone calls from most creditors will cease after the

re-aging process (typically within the first 3 months of enrollment)

• Whichever path is right for you, our Certified Credit Counselors will be there to

help you every step of the way

Bankruptcy counseling

Debt Counseling Corporation is approved by the Executive Office of the United States Trustees (EOUST) to provide bankruptcy counseling in thirty seven states. Our services include:

• Pre-petition bankruptcy counseling (before you file for bankruptcy). This course offers:

• A convenient time and place to complete counseling. Counseling is offered online, via telephone, in person or in seminar format

• A personalized plan of action with hand tailored recommendations to improve your financial situation and help you become debt free

• A Certificate of Counseling, which is required by law in order to file for bankruptcy

• Pre-discharge debtor education (after you file bankruptcy). This course offers:

• A convenient time and place to complete counseling. This course is offered online, through self study, via telephone or in seminar format

• Tools to help you improve your financial situation and avoid taking on new debt in the future

• A Certificate of Debtor Education, which is required by law to complete the bankruptcy process

Housing counseling

DCC is approved by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide housing counseling services to residents of Nassau and Suffolk County, New York. Our housing counseling services include:

• Pre-purchase homebuying counseling

• Pre-purchase home buying education

• Mortgage delinquency and default counseling

• Mortgage delinquency and default education

• Homeowner budget counseling
