About the Tewksbury Treatment Center

Tewksbury Treatment Center is a 32-bed inpatient detoxification service that treats and cares for clients (men and women, 18 and older) in need of medical detoxification from alcohol, opiates and benzodiazepines. We treat all our clients with dignity and respect, and believe that each person is unique. Our goal is to help you to your own path to recovery. We are located at 365 East Street, Tewksbury, MA 01876 (the Saunders Building on the grounds of Tewksbury State Hospital).

About Lahey Health Behavioral Services We provide a range of outpatient, inpatient and residential care, including mental health clinics; addiction treatment; family services; mobile crisis teams; psychiatric treatment and school-based programs for children and teens.

Who We Serve

At the Tewksbury Treatment Center, we understand substance use and addiction as a problem that has genetic, biological, psychological and social origins. We work with men and women, age 18 and older, from across the greater Merrimack Valley and southern New Hampshire.

What is detoxification?

Detoxification is designed to treat the acute physiological effects of stopping drug use, including alcohol. In some cases, detoxification is medically necessary. Untreated, withdrawal may be dangerous or even fatal.

Who Can Refer a Client to Us?

Many sources refer a client to us, including families, hospitals, shelters, physicians and other health care providers, police, the legal system and others.

Clients may also self-refer. Please call us to ask about admission.
