Job Description

|Job Title: |Employability Co-ordinator (NOMS) |

|Purpose: |To promote and deliver the NOMS funded Employability Programme targeted as |

| |ex-offenders across Wales and with particular focus on relationship building for |

| |referral agencies, clients and businesses |

|Reports to: |Head of Operations & Delivery |

|Direct Reports : |None |

|Salary: c £25,000 |

|BITC has been developing and delivering employability programmes since 1998, with a particular focus on the Homeless, Care Leavers and |

|NEET’s. Our employability programmes are a unique partnership between leading businesses, referral agencies, Local Authorities and Welsh |

|Assembly Government. Our programmes aim to break the vicious cycle of no job, no home, no job through helping people to find employment and|

|achieve independent living. |

|This particular programme will focus on engaging private sector business mentors to support ex-offenders whilst they are on work |

|placements, to help them stay in employment. |

|Main Responsibilities: | |

|1. |Engage and support effective relationships with referral agencies |

| |Develop and manage strong relations with external agencies and facilitate these relations with the delivery team. |

|2. |Support companies involved in the programme |

| |Engage companies to support the employability programmes. Develop effective ongoing relationships between these companies and ensure |

| |the programme is properly planned and delivered. |

|3. |Managing and delivering the programmes |

| |Deliver all aspects of the Ex offender Mentoring programme pan Wales. Ensure the programme meets contractual requirements and the |

| |participants, companies and third sector partners are supported throughout the programme |

• Source appropriate candidates from referral agencies and match to a business mentor.

• Recruit and train mentors from private sector businesses.

• Manage client, agency and business expectations throughout the programme.

• Carry out full de-briefs, gather feedback from companies, clients and referral agencies.

• Identifying the best course of action for each client.

• Ensure referral agency Service Level Agreements are in place

|4. |Account Manage and Recruit Members |

| |Pro-actively recruit, engage and retain businesses in South East Wales and work with BITC’s partners pro-actively to help identify |

| |voluntary organisations and specific community projects for business support |

|5. |Project monitoring and evaluation |

| |Ensure that all project monitoring and evaluation is fully completed including aiming to track participants for at least a year after|

| |they have completed the programme. Use this information to continually improve and streamline the programme in consultation with Head|

| |of Operations. |

|6. |Marketing and communication |

| |Help produce and collate good-news stories, positive outcomes and case studies for press and PR opportunities. |

|7. |Contributing to the wider work of BITC and its teams |

| |Support wider BITC programmes, membership and internal teams. Help share best practice/ideas and assisting other team members when |

| |required. Pro-actively engage within teams and across teams |

|8. |Administrative Tasks |

| |Complete reports and timesheets as required by funders and or government |

| |Use BITC systems (Salesforce, Chatter etc) to ensure account managers/other teams are updated on company activity |

| |Ensure all referral agencies and companies receive up to date information on forthcoming programmes |

| |Write up debriefs and distribute to clients, companies & referral agencies |

| |Prepare and present reports on all Employability Programmes |

|Qualifications: |Skills/ attributes and experience are more important than specific qualifications |

| |Project Co-ordination experience |

| |Developing and managing cross-sector partnerships |

| |Delivery of successful employability/training programmes working with people with significant |

| |barriers to employment and an ability to demonstrate an in depth understanding of the Welfare to Work|

| |System. |

| |Experience of working with ex-offenders and or NEETS (not in employment, education or training), |

| |homeless, Care Leavers. |

| | |

| |Well networked in both public and private sector |

| |Desirable |

| |Experience within an HR or training environment, ideally within the corporate sector or some |

| |experience of delivering training or HR in the public / not for profit sectors |

| |Marketing communications experience e.g. writing press releases, producing marketing materials, |

| |updating websites |

| |Experience of managing public sector contracts to meet outputs, outcomes and milestones. |
