One summative assessment essay will be written answering the above question. In order to evaluate the learning that took place in this unit, students will write an essay including the following:

• Introductory paragraph

• Body paragraphs – These should address the following three areas

o What are the benefits and inherent risks of:

                 a. nuclear energy

                 b. medicine

                 c. the food industry

o Statements must be supported by evidence. Additionally, paragraphs should include your opinion supported by evidence or fact.

• Conclusion paragraph, relating back to the original question.

Expected Format of Paper:

o 800-1400 words, 12 point font, double spaced

o 3-5 Sources, at least 1 textbook source

o Work must be cited on separate page using MLA format
