VIDEO LEGENDS - Neurology

VIDEO LEGENDS.

The manuevers depicted may need to be modified for some patients with reduced neck flexibility by turning of the head and shoulders together (en bloc).

Clip 1: Dix Hallpike maneuver to the right. This maneuver should evoke paroxysmal positional nystagmus for right-sided benign paroxysmal positional vertigo related to the posterior semicircular canal. The mirror image of this maneuver constitutes a left-sided Dix Hallpike maneuver.

Clip 2: Supine Roll (Pagnini-McClure) Test to determine the affected side in horizontal canal BPPV. The side that induces the most intense horizontal positional nystagmus is presumed to be the affected side.

Clip 3: Lempert (barbecue) Roll Maneuver for right horizontal canal BPPV. The mirror image maneuver can be done for left sided horizontal canal BPPV.

Clip 4: Canalith repositioning treatment for right BPPV. The mirror image maneuver can be done for left sided BPPV.

Clip 5: Semont maneuver liberatory maneuver for right BPPV. The mirror image maneuver can be done for left sided BPPV.

Clip 6: Gufoni maneuver for geotropic variant of right horizontal canal BPPV. The mirror image maneuver can be done for left sided BPPV.

Clip 7: Gufoni maneuver for apogeotropic variant of right horizontal canal BPPV. The mirror image maneuver can be done for left sided BPPV.

Clip 8: Brandt Daroff exercises. This exercise may be performed repeatedly, often by the patient, for BPPV affecting either side.
